Carbs before bed....Hmmm... That probably explains why I feel so worn out when I wake up in the morning. I am a "carb head". 😂I'll cut back on the carbs toward the evening and see how that works. Hopefully I will begin to feel more refreshed in the mornings instead of feeling "trainwrecked". Thanks Dr. Axe.

Carbohydrates are classified as oxidants. They speed up the rate of cell turnover. Gut microbes digest them and create fatty acids that end up fueling our brains which are 80% fat. Fuel fat with fat. Anaerobic pathogenic bacteria survive if they are fed carbohydrates, fueling the body with fat starves the pathogens.

@drjoshaxe

Unless you are prone to kidney stones or don't drink enough water, oxalates shouldn't be a worry. However, everyone is unique so it's important to follow a diet that makes you feel your best! You can learn more about oxaletes here: draxe.com/nutrition/oxalic-acid-oxalate-foods/?

I've learned from Sally k Norton, that oxalates accumulate in joints, arteries and organs, especially the thyroid. It make take a decade to notice symptoms. There are many healthy low oxalate choices. Be very careful with high oxalate foods! It is simply not true that this only applies to people with a history of kidney stones.
