I’m 15 and i have this surgery at the age of 14 and it’s been 10 months and i only lost 27 kgs in 10 months which I’m grateful for but really wanna lose more and need to cause i still look fat and i still eat unhealthily i wish i changed my mindset about food before undergoing the surgery and changed my eating habits and exercise cause i don’t exercise at all and i force myself to eat even when I’m really full unsubconsciously and my portions are quite big for someone who had a surgery but i can’t seem to stop and whenever i eat ppl around me say stuff like “are you sure you had that surgery” i was 93 kgs and now 66 kgs but i really want to reach 50kgs-45kgs since I’m quite short (153cm) and i really fear going back to how i was like to the point where i have nightmares about it sometimes like literally last night i dreamt that i went back to my past weight and no one wanted anything to do with me not even the closest people to me and i woke up and started crying it really scares me😔

Stacie Ashcraft no that particular coffee creamer isn’t sugar free. That’s the only sugar I have in my coffee. The “sugar” looking stuff I put in my coffee is actually xylitol. I have to admit the diet paft is what scares me from doing a surgery. I LOVE cooking and i cook pretty healthy too. I'm just terrified because i heard some things u can't eat anymore and the portions are scary to look at. I heard people get alot of acid reflux and that your farts are worst once your body has gone through the changes. Apparently you need to take vitamins fod the rest of your life....I'm so confused at times . 😔😔😔
@StaceyBirdsong
2 жыл бұрын
Truthfully, everyone is different and their body’s respond to the surgery different. The only thing I have a hard time eating is steak. For some reason it always sits too hard on my stomach and gives me a bad stomachache, so for that reason I don’t eat steak anymore. But that is the only thing. I’ve yet to get reflux and I don’t think farts are any worse lol. And also how many vitamins you need to take will all depend on your yearly blood work. A lot of people can get enough nutrition from the food they eat and not need to supplement with vitamins. Now you will definitely have to take them while you are early post op simply because you can’t eat much food at that time. Please don’t be discouraged from fears that you’ve heard from other people. ❤️

Girl I drink 2 cups of coffee in the morning and will have an iced coffee in the afternoons. Right after surgery I couldn’t have caffeine but that was just during my post op healing time. My body doesn’t like dairy so I already didn’t have much dairy anymore but it didn’t like it before my surgery. While it’s best to stay away from sugar or do low sugar to keep from gaining weight back, I do have sugar. Please talk to other post op patients or even keep watching my videos before deciding against having the surgery because it’s not so restrictive like some people make it out to be

You are still in the honeymoon phase of the sleeve. Seven years now. Gained 20. Losing it all and more now with IF and keto. The sleeve stops working well after 3-4 years. You really will have to be diligent later to keep it off. You can eat more than I could at 2 years. Good luck. Those carbs will add pounds later. Be careful with that.
@StaceyBirdsong
3 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the advice I definitely do not think I’m still in the honeymoon phase anymore. I think everyone finds what works for their body and sleeve. A few carbs every couple days has worked perfectly for me and haven’t had any weight gain so far. I am almost 4 years post op. I think also the success of your sleeve highly depends on your surgeon and how he does the operation and the size of sleeve he crafts for you. My surgeon makes the smallest sleeve possible to give the maximum restriction without it stretching out in the long run.
@ML-zj3ph
3 жыл бұрын
@@StaceyBirdsong I agree , I’m 2 years out and you learn about your body and limitations. If you stick to three meals with lots of protein, drink lots of water or sugar free flavored water (zero sugar drinks ect), watch the snacks & carbs you can maintain a healthy lifestyle. Also pay attention when you are full too. Yes, sometimes you may have a “cheat day” no one’s perfect but managing your cravings and portions is extremely important. Yes you can stretch the pouch if you go back to your poor eating habits. If you for the most part are serious about maintaining a healthy lifestyle and exercising, conscious eating ect you can keep your weight down to your goal it will no longer be a chore or difficult. Weighing yourself is also extremely important to monitor your behavior and keep yourself accountable. I used an app VHPGO that is great you pay over $200 for a year and you get live virtual coaching, group Bariatric therapy sessions, nutritionists, exercises, recipes , life coaches , psychologist advice ect My doctor recommended it and it’s a godsend , because you can schedule sessions at your convenience and it helps you continue to apply self care and mental support as a bariatric patient. This is a lifestyle change, the sleeve is just a tool, but psychologically we need to keep our will power and dedication to fight obesity for life! Thanks for sharing your video.
