Started drinking at age 14, not beer or wine, but on gin, rhum, vodka and all other high-alcohol drinks. Stopped when I nearly got sent to the hospital as I got so wasted my body refused to breathe. Been sober for the past 2 1/2 years now, and quite happy about it. :>

This is exactly why I haven’t had a drink in about 6 years, I enjoy nothing about it and it gives me the same sleep issues. Nothing but negatives

Im pretty much the same way. I use to drink on occasion when i went out with friends but never cared much about it. I havent had a drink in atleast 3 years. Being sober and clear of mind is a much better feeling.

Despite the legal drinking age being 18 in Canada, I also started drinking at 21. Despite that I only did it for five or so years and just stopped altogether around 10 years ago. Never really understood the appeal honestly! I think I’m lucky to have a friend group that didn’t really peer pressure me.

Yo a lot of this aligns with my experience, I'm slowly becoming just not interested in it anymore

Thanks for sharing Zach. I started watching your videos from your wholesome fixie channel, so you didn't strike me as a person who has a drinking problem, hehe. Good on you on sticking to your decision. I have a high tolerance for alcohol, used to love chugging long island iced teas, because you get the best of all the whites in one drink. But I decided to stop when I had to reduce my spending. There's actually a much deadlier vice out there, one that is cheap to get, and abundant. That is sugar. It doesn't have the social stigma so it is allowed to spread rampantly. Not drinking alcohol is ok, but switching from regular soy milk to unsweetened, or not eating a piece of chocolate, now that is hell for me. I want to quit sugar but I can't. It's everywhere. My body craves it especially after a hard workout, like cycling. Not many people talk about that. What is the alternative to sugar? I think its black coffee, and ice cold water. Keep up the good work and congrats on 1000 subs on this channel!

Never got started. I didn't get the point of getting drunk, I don't like the taste of most of it, it's expensive, and if there's something that I need to do in order to "deal with life's problems" that involves something that has a high probability of making my life worse or someone else's, then I don't think that drinking is going to help. I'll pass, thanks. I don't care if other people drink, it's just not for me. A lot of people have different interests in life, you don't need to hate on someone for not liking your interests or thinking they are dumb for liking they are into and you are not into.

I've drank since an early age (14?) and am now 39. i stopped recently due to some minor health issues. oddly enough it was really easy to just stop, I'll still have a non alcoholic beer occasionally because i enjoy the flavor. (they have really good non-alcoholic beer these days) 6 months of sobriety!

When I turned 21, I had one full drink and tasted two others, and I've tasted three beers since then (it's only been about 5 months). I don't really like drinking, mostly because of the taste of alcohol, and the lack of taste in most of the drinks I've had. There are a lot of things that I'm curious to try, once again for the taste, but I don't think I've ever been worse off for being sober around drinkers.

There's some neat tasting drinks in my opinion, but it's not a very good habit to be honest, I just ordered some white rum to make some raspberry liqueur, but after that I might take a break

Sounds like to me....that your sensitivity to alcohol is signaling that your liver is not in the best of metabolic conditions. Milk thistle?

@johnchilders1190 @Personify88 Yes, there are those who care about sobriety who have reasons of their own. Not all religion is cultic. There are also those who move on to other videos or channels that may interest them, without creating snide comments for attention using curse words with opinion to defend toxic suppressant substances. His choice on this subject is commendable and I encourage you to stay with your chosen sobriety man. That is a positive biblical way to go, after noticing the negatives of the other way..

No one gives a fvck about sobriety. People make sobriety to be a religion like it's a damn cult. Nah, just do you and try your best to succeed
