Allen I think your sprints and live shows ironically, since you are a teacher, make me feel like I am back in junior high. It is a clique of other small booktubers and good luck becoming part of the conversation if you are just a regular sub. One of the best parts of booktube is getting recommends from other commentators but at this point I just watch you and your guest and shut off the conversation stream.

@@TheLibraryofAllenxandria Not you, maybe all social media “chats” become like a clique, I have never joined one until I found book tube. You, more than most book tubers try to respond to all comments in a live chat. I just find that your live chats are dominated by the same small booktube channel people or “regulars “ and if a good conversation gets started , the commentator not in the clique get shut out or ignored just like being back in junior high. Maybe it is the problem of being mid-size.

This was great. Fantastic insight into the very small/large channel options. I think if there's one attribute of Allen that I appreciate the most is the raw honesty that comes across in your videos. You don't rant just to rant, it's because you have real life passion about the topics. And I think that translates well into your reviews and it certainly has spawned me to pick up a lot of your recommendations. Also, at a lesser level, I can appreciate your lack of time for things as a 40+ year old father of 3 that works fulltime (albeit from home), it's hard to find time for reading sometimes. Thanks again for your willingness to provide a community.

Happy BookTube Birthday. I moved house at the end of March and I am still trying to figure out the best configuration for the space to function for me. I thought I knew how it would all work and I hate rearranging but I am coming to the conclusion that function is more important than whatever ideas I had about the layout. Just because you have an 'office' room doesn't mean it is the best place to do everything. Maybe that is where you grade and do live streams but you need a different space for other types activities like editing. Don't be afraid to change it up until you figure what works best where and it could take several iterations. Annoying to do but when you finally get it right you will be so happy.
