@@malika6218 I actually closed both shops. I felt that my niche wasn't right for me, I was selling Christian mugs and I didn't make new 2022 digital products. I sold calendars and planners. Than after taking some time off and focusing on my college degree, I prayed about etsy and I felt God gave me a new idea. So I opened my etsy new shop and began selling pod tote bags on the 22 of June, I am 5 months in with 21 sales 10 of them are from this month alone, I had a sale everyday this month. I actually can't believe it. I'm in a niche that I really love. My advice do something that you will love and be happy doing.

I've been meaning to open an Etsy printable shop for months after researching. I finally created an account after watching one of your videos. I even used your free 40 listings. But Etsy suspended me while making my first draft for my first listing for no reason. How discouraging... No idea why. I have no other Etsy account nor have I purchased or sold anything on Etsy before. I already sent an e-mail to Etsy support. No response (yet). I watched several KZitem videos regarding this matter and it looks like the issue is rampant to new account/shop owners. Maybe you could also make a video regarding the matter... I was excited for my Etsy journey but it looks like I'll have to make do with other platforms. Etsy needs to revamp their customer service.

I have heard that Etsy has been known to shut down stores just for logging in to the account (or doing basic store functions) from locations other than the country you registered the store in. Could you shed some light on how to correctly sell on Etsy and still be able to travel? be sure to buy the VPN service with the option: DEDICATED IP, not only the vpn software , thas is in share with other 2000 people, using the same IP in common with you at the same time, due if another person is connecting with the same random ip, maybe using etsy for the same reasons, you risk to be banned from etsy , with the other user). Also a random IP is 99% normally associated to people watching porno, or download illegal torrents, movies and so on, so the risk to be ban is very high. Choose a decent service, such Nord vpn (expensive over $100/y) or cheap one like ivacy $50. avoid purevpn, I have it.... my dedicated ip work very badly. Please note: The VPN above, a part pure vpn, don't have the option IKS (what is that?) iks, PROTECT YOU from accidental drop of your dedicated ip, means IKS kill the whole internet connection if Dedicatd ip drops. BE SURE TO KEEP 2 eyes on the connection all the time, as if during your etsy session, connection drops, for etsy is very easy to see that you are on the maldive :) hope this help :)

@KateHayes

Great questions! If I had to choose only one paid software to start with it would either be probably Canva Pro for design or Sale Samurai for keyword research. Though that’s such a hard decision- there are so many helpful tools for Etsy sellers. As far as using PlaceIt or Creative Market, I’d say PlaceIt is easier to get started with for beginners because of the templates and affordability of everything being included but I personally love the style of what’s offered on Creative Market and piecing things together myself a bit more. It’s so hard to choose because I love both!

You are the best! Thank you so much for helping me out and creating this community ✨🙏🏻 I have one question; I am an artist drawing realistic animals. I have prepared several drawings ready to upload as printable downloads, but my style is different from all other shops and listings. Is that a good thing? Is it a pro or a con? Thanks once again 🤍

Hey friend! So it can be a bit tricky because you definitely want to be unique and different enough to stand out from the crowd but you still want to create something that will sell and is in demand. When you have a completely unique style, you may get crickets or you may have just discovered gold. The only way to know is just to try and put it out there to see if it sells or not. If so, awesome! If no sales after a while, possibly think about adjusting your style a bit :)

Hi there! There are several ways photographers can sell on Etsy depending on what kind of photography you do. First to come to mind would be selling your photos as art prints or digital downloads or creating/selling mock up images :)

Hi Kate, great video! Thanks for all the info..I'm 73 yrs old and opened an Etsy store last April 2022. I've sold a few things on there as well as Amazon. But it's way too many hours of work for so little a return as the markup on mugs, etc is very small. So I want to delve into selling digital/printables. Should I open a whole new store that is just digital products, or can I use my existing one? Thanks for your help! Beverly

I usually recommend opening up two shops if the types of products you are selling are vastly different but ultimately that rests on a bunch of factors.

Hi Kate, if I were to use creative market fonts that requires me to purchase and use it in canva, will my buyers be able to use those fonts or graphic designs for free?

what if you buy elements from creative market with commercial license and then sell on etsy, but someone else did the same thing you did. Can they say you copied them even though you both paid for the graphic from creative market and happened to have the same idea?

Hi Kate new subscriber here👋 It might be a stupid question but I am not sure if I understood correctly. So can we take any template from Canva edit it in any way and we can sell that?
@KateHayes

Great question! You actually CANNOT use Canva’s templates to resell. You can however, create your OWN templates in Canva to sell. You can look at the designs of pre-existing ones to gain ideas/inspiration for creating your own :)

Hello Kate. I love your tips very much. Am a big fun. I have a question, though. Do you think my location can affect the rate I sell on Etsy? I am in Kenya and aspiring to get my shop, but I have had bad experiences in the past whereby, as a freelancer, I do not get well-paying clients from the UK or US in the Job mills because I am not regarded as a native English speaker. I fear that I might open a shop and fail to get the most out of it because of similar preferences. kindly help

I think Etsy is a great platform as it enables participating from wherever. It has more to do with your offering than where you are from. Make sure your shop looks nice and presents well what you offer, has the tags and keywords that people use ( and of course your offering has to be what people want to buy/need). I personally feel like especially art from around the world is very interesting, it doesn't matter where the maker is from. Or sometimes it can be beneficial to be from totally different part of the world. Just go for it!

I've been really confused about print ratios. Thanks for your explanations. I'm still a little confused about size 11"x14". I noticed that some sellers include all the ratios and then an additional stand-alone 11"x14". So does 16x20 scale down to 11x14 or is it necessary to create a separate?
@blisska68

size 11"x14" doesn't fit to any ratios, but very popular, that's why it's included separately. Hope this helps

Ratios need to be divisible by some number, and nothing divides into 11
