I prefer bounds over screws, personally. But I understand they switched up the mechanics to evolve the series in some form.

I prefer a mix. Partly because for bryan, i genuine like the ch ff4 combo flow. Althouth, Lars should get his bound back + his new sen 3+4 wall carry

3:41 fb 2,1 is actually one of lars’ best punishes, at least in Tekken 6 and tag 2, using it in combos is a bit harder tho

16:12 About Negan when he was first teased I was expecting sort of an unique guest that was able to switch the bat between his hands with changes to limb command exempting movement & 1+2/3+4 inputs with radical frame & property changes to move during its execution with emphasis to perk tracking depending upon the current dominant hand that way it would've made him a compelling a character aswell the bat to be parried/reversal but Tekken Tag 1 style which would've introduced a niche depth without perplexity whilst still maintaining attainable depth

i just got an idea what if both bound and tailspin exist but in each combo you get to choose only one, like for example lars does one combo string and uses bound he wont be able to use tailspin in that combo or lars does one combo string uses tailspin and now lars cant bound in that combo lars did

It sounds really fun but it would do a lot more good for spectators than players imo. CH tailspin wall-splats would be a complete guessing game on the combo route, like Julia's ff1,4 and Lars ff+1+2 at the wall. Floor break combos would be completely revamped. Some characters would be waaay to good imo with all that flexibility like Lee, Lars, Julia and Nina or the likes of Bryan, Paul and Anna at the wall. I'd appreciate the nerf to low parries and float combos tho, and infinite stages will no longer be a crutch for many characters. I'm thinking Tekken 8 will have a variation system for tailspin, bound and probably a third mechanic similar to a rage damage boost.

@@MichaelSS "CH tailspin wall-splats would be a complete guessing game on the combo route" This is easily fixed by the loud boom sound effect that plays on CH which they already introduced in T7. In fact, if T7 didn't have this sound cue at all, we would also be facing a guessing game issue in this game. If you broke a wall/balcony in this game with a move that splats on NH and tailspins on CH, you'll be forced to guess if you can screw in the follow-up combo or not, if the sound cue didn't exist in this game.

I always knew that the Screw was a leg chop for Steve, since most of his movements are made perfectly for Bounds (he has like 8 or 9!!!), and with the Screws he had little or no movements, put him 2 or 3 movements, he's the fucking master in tekken 6 and tag 2, one of the best to use, but in Tekken 7 everything was screwed up

Couldn't Noctis use u/f+3 to punish lows, or is the hitbox too high to punish sweeps? It's 2f slower than WS2,2 which hurts, but he wouldn't be completely helpless against big lows. Anna, Steve and Heihachi make do with similar WS launch punishes

I still fail to understand how you judge characters being good or bad with bound on the basis of them having bound moves rather randomly assigned such as Julia's f,f+2 or King's CD+1+2 both of which have never been officially bound moves. I mean if you could give King's df+1 bound property, or Paul's d+1, in addition to some long range bound or string with a bound, these characters will be absolutely better.

Basically all of the T7 flipover moves (which those two are) were made bounds in the mod. This is just how it'd be with a straight no-fuss translation, in reality if we went back to bounds there'd have to be a lot of balance adjustments to accommodate that.

The character that have a rd 2nd screw should have bound instead, is cooler and different as a rage drive should be, but also the wall carry thank god is reduced, why character with already insane wall carry like Hwo, Lili and Miguel has a 2nd screw rd??
