Clarifications and corrections: 1. Unfortunately, Some texts have been distorted. Note that at 8:13 the text says - 'notes: s r m p n (komal) and at 11:59 the text says- 'raag megh, not malhar, haha'. 2. The title 'gharib nawaz' was that of Moinuddin Chisti of Ajmer and not of Nizamuddin Auliya! 3. A lot of folks are claiming that the bandish is in Khariboli and not Awadhi or Braj bhasha. Sure! We can safely say that it is a local Hindustani dialect and many a time the lyrics of these bandishes seem to be a mix of many of these dialects/ languages. Please feel free to express your views! 😁🌱

Anuja, this and the last video are probably my favorites by you so far, I enjoyed them both so much!! This one was so fascinating to watch/listen to! You have such a talent for teaching in an engaging way, and your composition was so beautiful!! Illustrations bhee bohat cute hain :) 💕 buss aik *chhoti* si correction: Amir Khusrau is pronounced "ameer" (امیر), not "aamir" (عامر)

Thank you. Through your videos I’m gaining an appreciation for Indian music. My head is moving from annoying high pitched drawls to an emotional thing that can be enjoyed. To pleasant stories than can be told. And as you’ve shown here - songs and stories than can evolve and grow 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽

"Saiyaan Hatto Jaao" from Heeramandi is also a beautiful composition, I am listening this one on loop. Don't know about the raag though, "Azaddi" is also a good one with Chorus.... Beautifully composed and written…took me right into the rains ❤ Anuja Ji, In Heeramandi, There’s a Thumri they have used in the show, that too only the mukhdaa and afterwards, it continues to play in the back ground in the scene that follows for a very short time. It hasn’t even been included in the album though… 😢 Title: Mose Karo Na Barjori, Shyam Tum… It starts exactly at 33 mins 09 seconds in Episode # 5 (Tajdar: The Lover’s Dilemma)… I am trying soooo hard to find a complete version of this one but to no luck… It’s such a beautiful rendition that I am sure you must’ve liked it as well…Thanks to Bhansali Sahab for bringing such beautiful music every now and then ❤ What were/are your thoughts on this Thumri??? And may I please please request you to do a short video on some of these beautiful classical compositions that were there in a movie/web series but not in the album… 🙏🏼🙏🏼

Another beautiful Thumri that was in the series but not included in the album - Title: Maine, Lakhon ke bol Sahe… Series: Modern Love Mumbai (Amazon Prime) Starts at 9 mins 51 seconds in Episode # 2 (Baai) Sung by Rutuja Lad The composers have actually taken inspiration from the version sung by the legendary Nirmala Devi Ji (also Actor Govinda’s mother) kzitem.info/news/bejne/ompplnuMk19pe4Ysi=WasNBg4yLo5CVLJB
