Question: with a multi zone power amp, does the amp have the capability of running different audio sources at the same time?

Thanks for this! I have an existing complicated outdoor system in my yard. 8 outdoor speakers in different locations running off of 2 Crown Comtech 200 amps. They're running on 4 ohm ea. channel with 14ga cable, and while the 4 speakers on the 50ft run are fine, the other 4 ran about 125ft away ALWAYS have had sloppy bass and lack of crisp high end (same speakers) Going to retrofit the speakers with 70v line transformers since apparently the comtechs already have the option and this helped a lot! Looking forward to having better and equal sound, and the ability to add a couple more to even out the yard.

Can you guys do a video of wiring a phone system into a 70 volt system?? I can't figure out which of the two wires coming from the phone system's audio out to connect to the amplifier's tel input.

Are they less energy efficient in standby since they are pumping 70v?

I have 4 JBL Control 29AV 8 70v. With one do you recommend 350w or 650w. I like to have the volume on high for party’s thank you I’m looking at that amp on Amazon and they have 350w and the 650w

Can you wire them in a "T-Tap" Topology? if i have a large room with 3 pairs of speakers on each side (6 pairs total). can I run my main cable down the center, and then have each pair of speakers with their own cable run that connects to the main run? there would be a total 6 taps, 3 on each side.?

So the impedance doesn’t matter? As long as that wattage maths out, I don’t have to worry about putting 20 8 ohm speakers in one amplifier?

Yes! 70V system work off of fixed wattage where you don't have to worry about impedance. Each Speaker is "tapped" to a specific wattage amount and all you have to make sure is that the 70v amplifier you are powering all of this with has enough power to power the total amount of watts all of your speakers are tapped at!

How do you measure 70volts amp with a Multimeter? I try measuring Common terminal to 70v terminal with sound on and with out sound and I don’t get 70volts. But speaker and everything works fine. Just wanted to measure output

another name for that wall controller is a Veriac® or auto-transformer,..... another cool note never brought up, if you do the math a 70v transformer gives you 4ohm8ohm or 16ohm outputs according to the taps. so voila output transformer for your classic tube amp

You mention parallel wiring but I think you mean wiring in series. Parallel wiring would mean each speaker requires a homerun back to amplifier

Parallel is all of the positives together and all the negatives together. They dont all have to run back to the amp as they are connected through the chain. Series would be connecting positive of one speaker to the negative of the next speaker.
