Why are you dissing this bike and comparing it to a Grom? This bike will do highway at the speed limit all day, weighs in 50 less and has great fuel economy, not to mention it is a joy to maneuver around town.

My cb300r has no problem maintaining 70mph even into headwinds It is a huge upgrade from the Grom which can barely manage 50mph in a head wind. I have taken both on over 1.4k mile trips and I prefer the cb300r due to the extra power. But if there was ever an offical honda 250cc Grom I would have one instantly!!!!

I live in Bangkok and own a Honda CB300R. It is narrow, short wheel base and tight turning circle so very good for filtering through traffic jams and quick in the suburbs. A powerful and better looking Grom. I also own a Honda Monkey 125.

I got mine up to 135kmh or about 83mph, was around 9000 rpm so didn't have much left to give but I think it could do with an up-gearing. Drop a few teeth on the rear or add one to the front and it wouldn't accelerate as fast past third but I think it would make 1-3 far more useable in cities and let you do a lot more with 5th in terms of getting up to speed and then 6th would be a proper over-drive gear for the highway efficiency... right now I can do 80kmh in 6th at 5000rpm (country road speed-limits) but if we can get that down to 4500 rpm... and 100kmh to 6000 rpm, it'd be really efficient. Of course this would kill 6th gear acceleration but that is what 5th gear would be for anyway.

@@Octobiker I think 300 is a good step up from 125 you go from 10+ second 0-60mph to sub 6 seconds. I am interested in CB650R, Triumph Trident or even an XSR900 as next after gaining skills. Those can do 60 in under 3.5s and might be a bit much for a 125 cc rider.
