Sir I have a question , Are the crest and trough of a standing wave fixed ? Also if they are fixed then why does the wave oscillates ? While observing the oscillation of stationary wave we find the crest and trough to be moving up and down , how is it possible ?

Standing waves do not have crests and troughs. They have antinodes that oscillate back and forth from a maximum positive to a maximum negative displacement. And they have nodes which are stationary.

A standing wave is not a wave. A standing wave is a wave pattern that results from the interference of two or more individual waves. The rest can be found in the video.

Since it is a wave pattern it does not have crest and trough so does it has maxima and minima ?
