Very useful information. I’ve got a landa belt drive machine that does 4.7 gpm at 3500psi with a flow unloader that looks exactly like the one you showed. When I release the trigger the pressure jumps to 4500 psi and a little water leaks from the unloader. I’m concerned this is bad for my pump since it’s rated at 3500 psi. Any chance you can tell me if I need a new unloader? Or possibly just to make an adjustment?

Hi can I ask a question im a little confused. I have 2 washers both the same with built in unloaders can u use these in series so long as I run check valves both pumps are identical I just don't know weathere there trapped pressure or flow

Same I ha e two identical 2.5 gpm 3400 psi, both have gx200, and both have a cat pump, I want to siamese them together to get the 5 gpm, I'm pretty sure the psi will stay the same though, but I'm not sure what kind of unloader they have e on them?

Flow in general is better all around. Trapped pressure is more common and cheaper.

If it's bogging down and then dying, the unloader is likely broken

I believe i have the vrt3 on my 8gpm 3500. Just changed out the pump. Flows great open but when i close the ball valve it makes a sound like it’s hissing air. Really weird. Any idea what it could be?

I know this is an old video but can I run a external unloader on a pump with a internal unloader? Like just set the external low enough that it bypasses water. I figure at that point if its bypassing water out the side then the internal one wont ever come on.

What type of unloaders do electric power washers typically use? I have a Ryobi 2300 PSI 1.2 GPM electric. I would like to run two so I have 2.4 GPM. This will give me gas like power with the convenience of electric.
@Cleanpowerwash

Electric just has a pressure switch to turn the pump off. Not sure how electric is convenient, but you would be better off buying a bigger single unit
@paulmorrow8372

Electric can be great, but don’t waste your time with a 120v unit. I custom built one with a 3phase 10hp motor. The motor is controlled with a speed controller so I can adjust me flow easily.

Can you run a bypass on a built in unloader valve (the one that came with the machine)? The discharge seems to be in the back of the pump with no outlets anywhere near the nob under the unloader. Or would I need to buy an external unloader valve to run bypass?
@Cleanpowerwash
Жыл бұрын
If it has an external hose that runs back to the inlet of the pump, then yes. Otherwise you would need a different pump and unloader

Why do you toss the pump when the unloader is bad? Can't the unloader be repaired? I'm asking because I have an AR RKV4G37D-F24 pump and it appears the unloader is bad (water sprays out of the unloader port regardless of whether or not the trigger is pressed). Just wondering if this is something I can replace or if I'm better off getting a new pump?
@Cleanpowerwash

You can replace an unloader easily. The pumps last a lot longer. We have never repaired the unloader, but it can probably be done

Could anyone tell me how to spot the difference between a trap pressure unloader and flow? I've looked at mine and cannot tell.
@Cleanpowerwash
2 жыл бұрын
The vast majority are trapped pressure. If you pull the trigger and there is a big burst of pressure then that is a trapped pressure unloader. If it takes a few seconds to build up pressure then that is a flow unloader

Hey Rob what you think about belt driven vs direct drive pressure washer?

Belt is better than direct drive. They are harder to work on than direct drive, but last longer. Belt goes at lower rpm and so it runs cooler.

Question regarding unloaders. On the VB350 unloader there’s a small hole on the piston holder that no one talks about. What is a that holes purpose and when it has a small but consistent flow of water coming out while the unit is in bypass mode does that mean that is going bad or just a spot for water to escape so it doesn’t blow? I had no issues before but I just had to re Teflon my bypass fitting and then the hole started leaking after I fired up my machine to see if the fitting was still leaking. I’m just confused and can find no info on it. Hope you can help
