About 20 years ago a Dr told me to mix salt with very warm water, stir it so that the salt dissolves, then sniff it through both nostrils. I did this over a sink Very messy but it works. I have done it a few times since whenever I had sinus problems. The salt I used was Redmond. Since I am not a doctor, please check with your PCP. Two years is way too long.

Are you able to see a naturopath instead of a regular GP? I was sick on and off for 10 years and then found out I had parasites (which they'd never thought to test for)and after a ten day treatment I'm feeling better. It's frustrating I could have found out years earlier and not felt like crap for so long.

I live in a hotspot for it here in Illinois on lake Michigan. It's VERY common in dogs, especially retrieving dogs because they're always sniffing the ground. The antiviral drug is several hundred dollars and has to be given several months to years and doesn't always work. Most vets suggest euthanasia, because it's so expensive, no guarantee, and highly likely to come back later in life. Plus, there is a small chance that it can be transferred through the saliva. My daughter's Labrador got it from the back yard when she was a puppy. We had to get the antiviral from Canada, because it was just too expensive here. She went blind because the spores were in her eyes. They had to be removed. She wasn't getting better, because her eyes were harboring the spores. She's fine now, but still wondering if it might return some day. She chases down full grown rabbits even blind. The vet who treated her has a blind dog from it. He says that it is very common in dogs in this area. He said that it is nearly impossible to eradicate, because the spores may be there one day, but not the next. Never know where it will turn up.
