Do you have an opinion on which form is best or which to avoid? There's mixed reviews on CDP-choline and alpha-GPC. Bitartrate is a cheaper form I believe.
@thejdocrealminute4648
3 жыл бұрын
My understanding is that they are both choline-providing substances the body makes on the way to manufacturing acetylcholine. So they both serve the same general purpose: a choline source so the body can make more acetylcholine but are metabolized differently, because they both shortcut to different parts of the acetylcholine production cycle. One big difference that is reflected in the metabolic differences is that Citicoline also provides uridine when its broken down. Its sort of a two-for-one. Citicoline is patented (brand name is Cognizin), and is more expensive. Alpha-GPC can be easier to find in some places.

@thejdocrealminute4648

High levels of TMAO have been linked to a number of inflammatory conditions, including heart disease, type 2 diabetes, chronic kidney disease, cancer, and liver disease. TMAO level testing may be done to determine heart disease and stroke risk or to predict major cardiac events. What supplements reduce TMAO levels? Vitamin D supplementation reduced the levels of choline-induced TMA and TMAO by regulating the composition of gut microbiota.

Getting too much choline can cause a fishy body odor, vomiting, heavy sweating and salivation, low blood pressure, and liver damage. Some research also suggests that high amounts of choline may increase the risk of heart disease.. Yes --- anything in excess...You should not use choline if you have bipolar disorder.

@thejdocrealminute4648

Choline may cause a stomachache, diarrhea, or loose stools. This can happen at normal doses. Large amounts (about 20 g) of choline may cause other side effects. These can include dizziness, low blood pressure (hypotension), and fishy body odor.
