Byrony, thank you for this. Could you do a video about the difference between DLD and dyslexia?

Hey, I really liked your video, the content, the dynamic. I'm actually working on a research paper related to this topic. I appreciate the time you spent in this video for us.

Great video. Just one suggestion, maybe don't record audio over loud back noise (e.g. the wind) as it made it hard work to understand you. Otherwise one of the most watchable video shorts on the subject I've come across 👍

Me too! After hearing the bad audio on this I had to buy another camera with a proper microphone. So, newer videos don't have the windy sound. Shall I make another video on DLD do you think?

Thought the same, not very DLD friendly, as I get issues when there’s a lot of sounds

Hey there, I'm 16 years old and I live in Holland. I got diagnosed with dld a month ago. They weren't able to find out sooner because I am highly gifted and I was always able to compensate. I am very silent and never really felt understood by people around of me and people still don't understand me, my parents for instance. I don't have a lot of friends and I am in the last year of my school. I have no idea what I will do after. I don't even know myself it feels like. So what is the best way to search for my own identity?

I always say "Say that again? I missed a word" or cup my hand behind my ear. People guess I'm a little deaf. Close enough.

Just today I had my son turned down from a Kindergarten because their psychologist is not equipped to deal with a child with DLD, also, I grew up with DLD, I couldn't speak until I was three, and I have to this day problems following instructions and personal communication, I struggle most of the time to find the remember the words I want to say

Hi Bryony I would like to ask you if there is help for an adult who has been straggling with this disorder without knowing and only now realized this situation has a name and a diagnosis. Thanks very much

Hi Silvia. A Speech and Language Therapist could help you better understand the things that are difficult for you and practice strategies to manage these. Different countries have different routes to support. You might simply start by searching online for a speech and language therapist in your local area. Is that the kind of help you're thinking about?
