Yeah that’d be amazing to have the basic Fujifilm RAW converter on a tablet. I think the engineering would be a bit more difficult than we think, and I wonder if that’s on the roadmap!

@@PeltierPhotoimagine if Fujifilm gave us in camera raw recording for video and it can be processed in this Fujifilm Raw Studio. We get all the full benefits of the Film Simulation and Flexibility of Raw

Thanks, John, very helpful. Why do you think Fujifilm doesn't allow the processing to happen on your computer instead of having to use the camera? It would be so much easier. I have many photos taken with the X-T20 which I no longer own, and even for those from my current camera would have to be loaded back onto a memory card and put into the camera before processing.
@PeltierPhoto
10 ай бұрын
They’re just using a shortcut in packaging the program, forcing it to use the processor in the camera rather than including it with the program. Available options vary depending on the camera processor, but Nikon manages to do the same thing without requiring the camera connected.

@@nicvortec four things to consider: 1) the RAW files need to live on your computer, it won't pull RAW files off of your camera. 2) Connection Mode, in the camera's Network/USB Setting menu, needs to be set to USB RAW CONV. 3) the USB-C cable needs to be capable of handling data (not just charging), 4) turning USB Power Supply Off (Network/USB Setting menu) can help with data transfer.

Hi John, I am using x-t30 with the Fuji provided usb cable. Changing a single setting in the studio takes a significant amount of time, several seconds, unlike in your video. Do you have any guess what may result this? The x-t30 only has one of these settings mentioned in the video.

There is also a setting within the Preferences of X Raw Studio which prioritizes speed vs quality when previewing images. My understanding is that it does not affect final export quality when converting.

This is standalone from Lightroom, there's no cross-compatibility, so everything you do in X RAW Studio will have to be using RAW files on your hard drive (or external).
