As a counseling psychology student, this is the clearest and complete introduction to Gestalt Therapy I've ever heard. Thanks!

After 30 years, I finally started therapy and I was assigned to a Gestalt therapist. I never looked for its theoretical basis, but I found this video and it made me think a lot. Thank you so much for sharing this! And I would like to add, that it would be great to listen to more in-depth theory explained by you! Greetings from Vienna!

Using Gloria's therapy session with Fritz Perls, what could it be a good example of the topdog/underdog technique? i feel like i'm confusing it with the two-chair techique
@Psychologist_ClarissaMosley
Жыл бұрын
Hi Amber, I have used alternating and potenitally the wrong terms, I should have said "empty chair" and thus, top dog / under dog polarities are played out and experimented with using two chairs. Sorry for the confusion. I do intend to make another video on this, and the empty chair - which can be used for so many things, parts, polarities, others, projections, etc etc.

There is a video of Fritz Perls doing the two chair method on KZitem. I will see if I can find it again but I remember that he is in a room of many younger (potentially college age) people
@@rafaelvalentin4778that would be incredible!! If you could find it I’d love to see it.

Honestly, there are too many to mention. The seminal work is "Gestalt Therapy, Excitement, Growth and the Human Potential by Perls, Hefferline and Goodman."
