You are correct; 3% of the water is groundwater. But only 1% is fit for human consumption, not 3%.

Thank you for clarifying, Dawn! At this point our video might be a little misleading. We might need to put some figures right: 3 % is the share of freshwater of the world`s total water amount. About 2/3 of this freshwater is stored in glaciers and ice caps - that is why it`s not directly available for human consumption. The other 1/3 of it is groundwater and surface or other freshwater, which can be used as drinking water.
