It’s interesting what they’ve done with Radovid in the series. In the books, Radovid is the child son of the king that doesn’t add anything to the plot. There is no Radovid and Jaskier romantic tension, but it’s a change I’m enjoying. The actor playing Radovid has a strange charm and livens up what could be dull royalty scenes. While I don’t remember Jaskier having any leaning toward guy in the books. He’s more often shown as a womanizer. I totally believe he would be bisexual. Ciri is so prone to visions and the Wild Hunt is more believed to be spectral beings - more a warning of war and death. Seeing they have real matter to them is a reveal that she wasn’t having a vision and they can cross over. The Wild Hunt did reveal last season that they believe it’s her destiny to join them. They want a member they believe will make them whole and stronger.

So glad you mentioned Shannara Chronicles. I really liked the first season so much I read the prequel book. Then only watched like 2 episodes of the second season because it just felt off.

The second season was wild. I think one of the actors left the show and that really messed up what they were doing, but it was just so poorly done in the second season. And the first season was so fun!

I will always be grateful that season one of this show was good enough for me to try playing the Witcher 3. But season two was such a blunder and seems like so far in season 3, they’re just trying to undo what they did in season two. Ironically it makes me want to read the books. Not because I like the show so much, but because the game proved to me how good the Witcher can be. Though the last time I read a full book was like six years ago so I’m not sure how far I’ll get with the Witcher books lol

The Cahir/Robbie shivving will make sense as we go along (but the "I-must-smash-my-image-in-the-mirror!" moment just annoyed me). Yes, Ciri is making some terrible decisions, but she's young (younger than her actress -- as I have to remind myself periodically). I am finding the wigs rather distracting this season, I will admit. It's like all of the secondary characters got severe makeovers in the off-season. There are times when I think Dijkstra is the most fun character this season.

There are different reasons why people are after Ciri. Polititians have designs how to shift power the way they want using her as royalty. Some of the mages also meddle in politics. Then the Wild Hunt and the mages want to take advantage of her spacial abilities. What specific abilities they are after becomes clearer as the story progresses.

Yeah. Agreed. It feels like they condensed the existing material and chopped it down to a handful of story beats. Not a bad choice for quick pacing, but in a character driven story it seems rushed, and even a bit incoherent. Maybe with all the related controversy from the fan has constricted their budget and they are trying to rush through it? In many rich role playing video games there are enough side stories that you can proceed through the main story at your own pace. Much more flexibility for the players who want to explore are flesh out the world in which the story is set.

Oh noes, I fear you might need something stronger than a emotional support pillow? Have you considered getting a Blåhaj plush? It's really effective for emotional support and cheaper than therapy

Blohai is a good choice... but I'd personally think The Click's Emotional Support Demon would be more Hannah's speed.

I had such a hard time getting into the Shannara Chronicles. While it wasn't a terrible screen adaptation, the aesthetic of the world they used seemed so off to me.

You're not dumb. You need to read the books, then Watch the show to know how bad it is, and to know they have no respect for the source material and the franchise at al.l And for context: Producer Tomek Baginski said they simplified the story for young TikTokers and dumb Americans. That's how highly they think of their viewers.

It's not you, the show did a poor job of explaining factions and their motivations in season 2. Elf dude from this episode was completely pointless in the show, and yes, I assume Cahir killed him because Emyr told him because it would divide the elves. About other show suggestions, if you want a really well written show and don't mind Sci-Fi, then Farscape for me is the best. If you don't mind animatronic Muppets lol But it's a bit older show (99-03) and I don't know is it available.

No, its not that your missing anything, just a bad adaptation. The character personalities are all shifted around because the writers demanded to go off the path. They wanted to make characters other than Geralt the focus but have just done a poor job of it because they never understood what made them work to begin with. Its often the contradictions that make them work, such as Geralt presenting this tough standoffish exterior but being a complete marshmallow on the inside. Honestly if you want to know why people are after ciri, play witcher 3. It does a good job expressing the motives of the various factions while explaining the lore that goes along with it.

You are not dumb, the writers are. This show is so rushed and disjointed, I dont think they are even trying any more. For the most part everyone is after Ciri because of her genetics. She is breeding stock to them nothing more.

I'm doing my very, very best to not point out the irony in the statement "your not dumb." Honestly though, I don't think there are many writers who are actually unintelligent or bad at what they do... I may disagree with their creative decisions, but I don't think it's fair to use that to insult them. People's appreciation of art will differ wildly from each other.

@@AndrewD8Red Dumb does no mean a person cannot be academically smart, there are plenty of dumb people who have college degrees, just look at Congress. And I have no problem insulting these people, because their arrogance and disregard for the source material has now officially ended the series. They had a slam dunk handed to them, but decided to fix what was not broke in the first place. What they did was flat out dumb, they fucked up, they have screwed themselves out of a job. They are dumb for doing it. Also really childishly veiled insult towards my intelligence because I'm not great at grammar? Your really overestimating yourself if you think you can judge me and my opinion from a place of self appointed superiority.
