It's so hard to get a vocal coach here without paying a fortune or queueing for several years. I've been a musician for 15 years but I never learned HOW to sing. I checked out your beginner baritone lesson and wonder what would you suggest is a good place to start or continue from there? As a side note: I have to say I really appreciate how you've made your video lessons!

Hello! Thanks for your kind words regarding the videos! I would recommend working through the other videos in the beginner playlist, here's a link: kzitem.info/door/PL2mQP7sE6PHg8wjZBjfJ3HGVqjxBF2swE When you're successfully singing the 'connecting notes' video then start working your way into the warm up playlist, here's a link: kzitem.info/door/PL2mQP7sE6PHjmwOdqW4vpQlz_5mzkWnHr The warm ups are great for warming up, but they're really technical exercises and will help you develop your overall abilities. I am getting ready to release a guidebook to my KZitem channel via my website www.jeffrolka.com. Whether or not you wish to purchase it, starting next week I'm going to do a bunch of newsletter exclusive videos instructing you how to use this KZitem channel more effectively. You can always unsubscribe afterwards and there's no cost to use those videos. My singing method which is on the website, also free, could be very helpful too. You'll get instant access once you sign up for the email list. Best! Jeff

This was SO helpful! Regrettably, I’m watching this early Sunday morning. Wish I’d tuned in before 6 on a Saturday. (Are you still doing that? And what time zone?)

I've been training since I was a child and as an adult as a baritone but I realised I've been using my chest voice and shifting to my falsetto without using my head voice. Recently I did a trial with the wall and tongue out exercise and realize I could hit a g5 in head voice. Which I never knew before. My tone has always been a little feminine even when hitting low second octave notes but I always end up breaking at G4. Been reading alot about leggiero tenor voice and I've been contemplating if might be one. My voice is also very agile with extremely fast runs and vibrato.

Jeff I'd love to know what your daily routine is for you. Maybe I could get some tips from how the pro does it daily.

I'd love to talk you through my process. I'm going to address this more fully at this week's live Q & A, but in short, for a typical day of singing: 1. Not less than 20-30 minutes of general full range vocalizations. 2. 5-10 minutes of range specific vocalizations; high or lower range depending on repertoire 3. Repertoire selections. This can include more vocalizations if I strip out consonants, or have problems with phrases. This, however, is just an average day. If I'm performing, recording or have other constraints I will adjust this accordingly. I'll discuss more of those this weekend. Best! Jeff

Thanks for that! I stopped doing the live events awhile ago, but if you are subscribed to the channel and get notifications I am considering starting them again once I've got my high note course established. I really enjoy them and miss the interaction! Best, Jeff
