So you think you might have what it takes to be a 911 dispatcher? Being a 911 dispatcher is a very rewarding career, but it is also a very stressful one. You may have a shift where absolutely nothing happens one day, and the next, be 10 calls deep with five officers on duty all shift long!
Not only is the job stressful, but it takes a toll on your personal life as well! You will, more than likely, lose friends, miss family events, first words, first steps, birthdays, holidays, and most of your kid's ball games. You will work odd and long hours, weekends, and holidays. You will be called in on your day off, or have to stay late after your shift to cover for someone that is sick or on vacation.
With all these "negative" things though, the job is so much more than a job! You will meet some awesome people! You will talk with people on the phone more often than you talk to your spouse or mother. You will learn stuff about the area that you work in that you never knew.
Please consider subscribing to this channel and clicking on the bell icon and then all notifications. I will be posting every Monday and Thursday, at least for a while and I would hate for you to miss something because you're not subscribed! Also, check me out on Tiktok under the same name for more videos and some behind-the-scenes stuff.
