Never thought of ever using the resource monitor for this.. I honestly didn't think it'd be that useful in comparison to TASKMGR but I was wrong. Thanks for making this video!

What I'd really like to know is what causes Windows to max out the disk usage while showing that there's very little read/write activity. WTF? If it's not reading or writing, what is blocking up the disk interface and stopping the machine from doing anything useful?

@@Britec09 I just want thumbnails to be true to the video. A misleading thumbnail can be considered clickbait. It may be good for you and the algorithm, but dissatisfying to the viewer. I already know enough about the topic of the video for the content not to matter much to me. But I would always listen to a girl talking about it. What's so creepy about my sexual preference? The real problem is that you used the power of the female sex to motivate clicks, while there is no such thing in the video.

The biggest problem with the architecture of Windows and Lynx is making the user program responsible for allocating and de-allocating memory resources and the heap architecture memory structures. If the Operating System had total control over memory resources like the mainframe computers there would be no problem with memory resources. Using some intelligent memory management algorithms a normal working set of memory resources would be determined and all the not used memory would be overlaid to the page file and only the heavily used memory areas kept in the hardware memory.
@yogibarista2818

No - the application requests the memory it says that it needs, and the O/S always does its best to meet that demand. It may need to page to virtual in the event of total demand exceeding physical, but it will always try to meet the demand, because it has no way of knowing if the application's needs are real or just optimistic provisioning.
