@@ScottUhlMusic it definitely gets my vote as the best wifi based guitar wireless. For radio based instrument or mic wireless i think the Shure axient still is king imho. For iem the Audio Technica 3000 series gets my vote as it's Abit more affordable then the previous summit gear the Lectrosonics duet or Shure psm 900/1000 and covers more bandwidth.

Recently I've tried a Swiff/Lekato WS-70. No trouble with the transmission or latency, but I've experienced a severe tone loss. Both the treble frequencies and input gain dropped down, and I couldn't compensate in my multifx to get the same tone that I was used to. There was some weird gate effect that ruined my sustain as well. I've returned the WS-70 and I'm trying to get another wireless system. Maybe a got a defective unity? Or this sort of behavior is common in cheap wireless systems? I'm really not a tone snob, I just need something that doesn't mess too much with my tone. What cheap unity you recommend for that?

My advice that I give in this video is what I recommend: Accept that it’s possible that your cheap one won’t work with your setup, return it if it doesn’t work and try another one. If you don’t want to risk that anymore, save up the money and get a nice Shure/sennheiser wireless system.

I got the Amoon based on your video. It's great. Two problems (not really problems given the price point): a little noisy and it does a power save thing where it stops transmitting after no signal for a few seconds and doesn't turn on fast enough to grab the attack on the first note when you start again. As long as the song doesn't do a lot of long pauses, it doesn't really become an issue.

You really clarify very well what can work, and what can't work, with special note on "if you have a particular case/gear, I can't have the answer for you". That is gold, very well explained. Just like organizing a dinner at home for friends, Pineapple Pizza might not be of everyone's taste, so either you risk it (which it's not that much of a risk as returns exist) or you get a high end food that everyone loves (and even then, it might not work for Metallica). Loved the video, loved how well you went through it, massive congrats for your Bahamas show, that looks amazing, and new sub here! Keep up with the good work!

Good systems are WIRELESS as in 400Mhz . Cheap systems that will work in a bedroom environment are WIFI as in 2.4 Ghz, which the majority of wireless routers function at. They are all actually wireless. The difference is frequency, latency, physical quality, and battery life. There is a huge difference between the two. 2.4ghz + is a crowded part of the spectrum, and you could face challenges from random wifi connections in the area with cheaper systems. Fine for the bedroom, but I wouldn't do it live. The cheap ones will also change your tone slightly. I have those exact Getario ones, and the battery life sucked. I ordered a higher capacity batt for it but they are quite difficult to dissassemble and I ended up having to use a tiny driver to turn it on as I couldn't get the button to stay in the case while I reassembled it. I wouldn't do it twice, purchase or battery replacement. And yes, these changed my tone. Buy cheap, buy twice.

Why not just use a freaking cord lol.. I bet most of these musicians have no further to go than 20 ft people have used chords forever they sound the best.. And let's face it The whole point of wireless is portability. So if you have to buy one of those big ass expensive wireless systems that you have to plug in then just plug in your freaking cord lol.. That would actually be easier in sound better regardless of how good the system is.. So it's not going to be totally wireless with batteries then I don't see the point and then if you're not going that far on stage which most of your listeners are probably not use a cord why waste the money all together. Personally I've tried a bunch of the ones you've had returned a lot of them I'M A SOUND GURU AND I CAN HEAR THE DIFFERENCE, I GET HISSED, I LOSE SIGNAL, I LOSE SUSTAIN LIKE YOU MENTIONED.. it's no big deal plugging in the cord That sounds much better!! , Cleaner, even the distortion sounds better. ;) ;)

I guess if you are a professional (your only job) musician that plays large venues, then it would pay to get the more expensive pro wireless systems. But if you are a bedroom player, an inexpensive system like the typical $40.00+ - wireless should be ok. Its funny how Scott said to buy two sets. Thats what I did, because the Joyo wireless system works very well for me. I bought another just in case the price went up. I have two friends, a guitarist and a bassist that I turned on to the Joyo system that are in cover bands that play in bars, small outdoor gigs, etc. I went next door to the bass player's house and we were just noodling and stuff. He was curious about my Joyo. So, I let him try it. The first thing he said, in an excited voice, was: holy crap! There's no lag! I just laughed and said, yup! He liked it so much, I gave it to him. I think these small affordable wireless systems are mostly made out of the same Chinese parts. Some even have the exact same housings, just branded differently. They all have almost exactly the same specifications. I remember when Xvive came onto the wireless scene. I think it's a ripoff that other equally performing, affordable wireless systems are 1/4th the price of Xvive and they have not lowered their price to be competetive. They started this affordable wireless craze. They should come down in price to compare to the other brands. After all, in the end, they are just another disposable wireless system when their batteries don't hold a charge anymore.

So I really don't know who else to ask this, better than you, since I couldn't find answers on the internet: What if I want to use two different 5.8g wireless systems at the same time in my rig? One from guitar to pedalboard, and another from pedalboard back to me as IEM. You think they'll be too close together in the pedalboard? How close together two different systems can be? You think two completely different systems for each would help? Or should I make a choice between only wireless guitar or only wireless IEMs? I hope you can see this and answer it! Thank you for your time and keep up with the great content!! Greetings from GDL, MX 🇲🇽

I downloaded a wifi scanning app for my phone which shows me the frequency, channel, and signal strength of devices in my area but doesn't show the instrument wireless (shows hidden devices but not the instrument device). Is there a way to find out what actual channels the GWS-26 uses for each of its four channels? The idea being that, at a gig, I could do a quick scan with my phone and then use a channel on my GWS-26 that is not in use (or at least not heavy use) without flying blind and waiting for drop-out. Thanks for any thoughts!

I have been using a Lekato wS-50 with my Acoustic Guitar on gigs, and with my Strat Type Guitar when rehearsing with the band. No problems at all. Last week I used it with a Strat on a gig, and also no problems. I wanted to buy a second set, and started looking at the Lekato WS-70 (same as the Swift unit?) which operates on the UHF band, but some reviews mentioned tone changing, volume drop, and worse, a hiss sound. I can live with the first two negative points but hissing sound is a no no to me, so I went for the newer Lekato WS-90 which also operates in the 5.8GHz band, and it is on its way to me right now. I know, I know, I now have two systems on the same frequency 😮😟 will see. I will also have a look at the WS-100. I believe it operates also in the UHF band? Thanks for the video. Very informative as always.. 😊

@@ScottUhlMusic I did, thank you. I do agree with most of what you say, and all of it is very good advice as always. I also make a living playing music, and as I am also interested in electronics, I always try to build my own effect pedals, switchers, Midi adapters (cable and bluetooth) etc. My setup uses already some wireless devices. For example, I have a digital mixer, connected to a 2.4GHz WiFi router. My main guitar pedalboard sends Midi over BLE (Low Energy Bluetooth on 2.4GHz) to control my other guitar's pedalboard. This second pedalboard communicates with my Mixer to Switch the mixer's effects (Delay, chorus and Reverb) on my acoustic guitar and second electric guitar channels. This uses another device I developed to control the digital mixer over WiFi from my main board. Again 2.4GHz. Until now all this works very well since a couple years. 😎 As you can see it would be a very bad idea to buy wireless Systems for my setup that use the 2.4GHz band. I have a quite cheap in ear monitor system that works in the UHF band, and it has a few channels. It works well. And all this was the reason I did bet on the 5.8GHz wireless for the guitars. Currently I have only the Lekato WS-50 which I use on my Acoustic guitar. I want another one for my Strat. I do have an old AKG UHF wireless guitar system that stopped being allowed where I live, but now, after a few years it is allowed again, but it is unusable together with my in ear monitor device. I get a lot if interference even if I can select a few different channels on the monitor system. And this means that, as you also mentioned in your videos, having loads of channels doesn't mean you can use many different systems in the same band. The separation of the channels in the UHF band seems to be quite narrow. This means that two different systems might need to be set a few channels apart from each other. In reality, we can only use a few devices together, even with expensive units. They also tend to hiss a bit, that is why some units mute the audio when the signal level is under a certain threshold. Just like a noise gate. My in ear system does this. Two units on 5.8GHz shouldn't be a problem. Will test when the WS-90 arrives. 😎😉 Sorry about the long answer, I thought you might find it interesting. Keep up the good work. Much appreciated. Thank you.

The Voice of your guitar is compromised with a lead and those cheap wireless systems. I bought the Swiff ones and was happy enough. But, when I heard your 1st Blind Demo, the BOSS ones absolutely were the pick. They have every ounce of voice, not tone, and the " cable simulation" is what would normally be needed to push that voice along a cable, taken away. Plus you advertise that it's ok to buy cheap crap, throw it away in 2 years and poison the Earth. Dude, that's not ok.

I once had a very heated discussion with some one about a topic that, as a New Yorker, is very personal to me. He believed that PINEAPPLE PIZZA was the best. after many hours we came to an understanding, though to many it's not the best, it's still pizza

Thanks for all the info. Personally I bought the Phenyx Pro and the swiff audio after watching your reviews. Haven't had any single issue or problem. The frequency sets automatically, used them on electric guitars, acoustic and active bass. I've used those 2 together with the other guitar player using the boss wl-50 and neither of us had an issue Sadly the nux 5.8 don't exist in Amazon anymore, I hope one day pineapple pizza ceases to exist (😂 just kidding)

Have you (Pineapple pizza). Ever taken one of the wireless system apart. I have one where the battery won’t charge on the transceiver after about a year of working. I was wondering if one could replace the battery. I have the Leketo(sp?) and two stax. The stax was the one then wouldn’t charge.

I never have had to replace the battery, but I know others have said that they can do it. I personally would just buy a new one if that happened

I know this sounds crazy but I’m thinking of getting a really cheap wireless dongle system to play in my bedroom . As I am fed up of leads everywhere. And my life is always moaning at leads everywhere.

I got the Lekato WS60. I use guitars with mag/piezo. I have a special cable to move the reciever to my mic that has a tray to set it on. I added a extension TRS female to male to move the transmitter to my strap. I did experience a few drop outs when my brother added cheap wireless in ear on 5. 8hz. I am trying to find more options for stereo setup. I would buy a better one if I could find one. I have an old Nady 201 ch. H that works, but was frustrated with not being able to find a stereo wireless. AKG has one but, not sure if they are current. Forgot the model. Wish Sennheiser had a stereo wireless for dual instruments.

After your videos I so, so wanted the swiff audio ws-50s to be good but they just had a horrendous, extremely loud hiss no matter what guitar or amp or modeler or interface I used them with. Very sad. Perhaps their QC is bad and I got a lemon, but I had to give up and return them.

Sorry to hear that, I know it’s frustrating. You are definitely in the minority, but that’s part of the risk with cheap wireless, and that’s why I made this video. Hope you find one that works better for you!

If you’ve ever read ANY reviews you see that some will be a glowing review and others will say it’s utter dog shit. Your average person sucks at reviewing and will just report their “fee fees” instead of an objective report of the item.

Had the Swiff Audio for a year. Works great for playing around the house. When compared to a cable, you do loose sustain and you especially notice when your tapping. However, Im playing around the house so who cares???

My Swiff no longer holds a charge for very long. The Getaria is still going strong and the Xvive creates transients. I am now using cables at home and a Shure GLXD for live events. Pineapple pizza. Yum.

I have 2 of the black Ammoon systems...had them for 4 yrs and they still works like new(over 6 hrs) and I use them exclusively . I have never had a single problem with them. They are disappearing now so I bought 2 more so when these give out I can just move to the new ones. I have several gigging friends who also have them and the story is the same. We have used as many as 4 at a time and not one glitch...this is the one I recommend if you can still get one!

Thanks for the ideas on wireless! I've never actually tried Pineapple pizza but I/m sure it has something to do with the saltiness of the cheese and the sweet&sour taste of the pineapple. I remember while we lived on Hawaii, locals sprinkled salt on their pineapples to activate the flavor.
