I didn't realize it until now, but we selected a curriculum (Blossom and Root) that follows this method. And, due to work schedules, we have been doing all our homeschooling in the mornings and leaving afternoons for play.

We just started homeschooling this year in NY as well! About an hour north of the city. I struggling to figure out how to do the quarterlies and such with the Charlotte Mason approach.
