I discuss the differences between short acting bronchodilator inhalers (albuterol / salbutamol / Ventolin / blue inhaler) and various long acting inhalers. Long acting inhalers tend to have an effect for up to 12-24 hours. Some long acting inhalers also contain a combination of medication, either two different bronchodilators (medications to open up the airways) or a combination of inhaled corticosteroids (anti-inflammatory medication) and bronchodilators.
