Excellent excellent video. Finaly someone gets and understands that continuous focus on the narcisism is self defeting and gets us nowhere.

Preach. This separation at first had me thinking how could he do this. I stared looking with in. He is a cop and he has done illegal thing and abusive things. I didn’t want to tell on theses things but if I dont I only hurt myself. I am taking back my power. I started after I couldn’t hold a job looking within. I am not fully healed but it reveled to me every family member and friendship I allowed to define me and make me less than who I am. I am an original, beautiful, smart , successful, intelligent women that doesn’t need a man but when it’s time will allow a man into my life again when I am whole and he will be whole. He can have his divorce and his pos possessions. I am going to change lives and help heal the world.

Thank you for another powerful video. You are on a roll these days, Mel. Am literally turning corners into a new reality. Am making the decision to stop researching the N. It has become so draining, and always leaves me with the same information...no growth, empty and wanting more. Have had enough of all that. If I ever feel like I need validation, I can stop, and go within...Big sigh of relief. I am the someone I've been looking for.

I've had to learn a lot about narcissistic abuse in order to wake up, but now that I've gained so much awareness about narcissists I've been feeling like I don't want to constantly research and make notes about it. To be honest, I still want to research it occasionally just to make sure I keep my awareness up- especially until I can get away (I'm not away yet due to financial reasons). But I've definitely felt this inner calling to step away from educating myself so much about narcissistic abusers . I've felt happier not focusing on it so much. I've never heard anyone verbalize or addressed this issue. Thank you so, so, so much for bringing attention to this!! Definitely going to focus more on healing my wounds at deeper level and focus on being more of myself, and a healthier person! The last part of the video is also extremely powerful. Going to share this!! Thanks again!

Hi Melanie, thank you for highlighting the concept of "Wetiko". I've read "Dispelling Wetiko" by Paul Levy a while ago and I do believe it should be mandatory reading for all of humanity. To further draw a parallel between wetiko and humanity, my experience has been that Quanta Freedom Healing via the NARP Program Modules is a modern-day toolkit that teaches a skill-set which, in effect, dispels any and all traces of wetiko, both on an individual and collective level of existence. Bless you for blazing the trail to thriving.

Melanie you are right once you research the other person the toxic person the crazy maker, the narcissist whatever you want to call them; it doesn't even matter what they are diagnosed, if they are crazy making and selfish and abusive. once we research everything and understand them and realize that is not our job to fix them, that it may not even be possible for them to be fixed, now it's time to stop thinking about them completely! Think about ourselves! This is probably hard to do to begin with. maybe that's how we got ensnared.

Great point about wetiko. There's more to wetiko than that, worth looking up. Also a little ironic that MTE did learn all about narcissism and after that, found her own identity, then went on to explain narcissism to us. But she always teaches how to break free.

My goodness this is the video I've been looking for. Even Sadhguru couldn't convince me of this. That I am the one who is responsible for my manifestations, then I need to live on a conscious level, things happen through me and not to me, and that everything is reflected back to me as my own manifestations whether it is my fault or not. I have to get past that part whose fault it is. it doesn't even matter now. Thank you and God bless you.

one of the things i love about Melanie is how she is one of the few who really do understand the concept of inheritance from the ancestors. What got me so interested in this was that when i discovered my real parents and ancestors i found i shared many things with those from the past, including what i think of as memory. As an example, as an adopted person i naturally wondered about my connections to the past. I felt english, and felt a very strong feeling whenever i seen images of the southern parts of england. it turned out my ancestors came from there. It's certainly not just health or bad health genes we inherit i am convinced of that.

These people are so dangerous to a person, that many victims of Narcassistic Abuse are diagnosed with Complex (meaning many) PTSD. I have it, my mother has chased me around everywhere I go for help, treatment of illness, leaving a very abusive man (she is so bad she helped him get off Legal Charges of Assult of me, when I left him, and got a place in another town, she redialed the woman's phone number, and told her I was dangerous, the lady was so scared of what she told her, I arrived to my new address to two police cars in the driveway and told me I had an hour to be out of the lady's suite, it was -70 Celcius, and I had no-where to go. That is just one story, I have had Thirty years of it, constant, and constant nervous break-downs. I have even had police go to her home and tell her to stay out of my private life - to no avail. These people are so sick, and so disordered, be careful. Leanne Johansen Alberta - Canada

I disconnected from them 4 years ago.. now I can move forward even farther than I have come, and I have learned more about my self. I may have been stabbed in the back but I have not been destroyed, I have a wife and a house, I have a son and daughter in-law, and a daughter and granddaughter, they make me very happy, I know I can be happier because things were better today and they will be even better tomorrow! thank you Melanie !!!

This exactly happened to me! I got overprotective from Narcs. waited for them to attack me so that I could destroy them. There was so much anger in me that after a few months of this attitude I was empty of my life energy. I finally understood that I am getting what want: constant fights and conflicts with people at work. I felt exhausted and miserable. Then I thought if this really works that life happens through me then I want to approach ALL people with love and understanding. The shift in me happened. To belive it and live this truth which is the greatest experience for me.

Good god, I couldn't even imagine going through that crap again. I still have my moments of just a big cry, but it isn't really him anymore, it's when I think of how my children missed out on a mom, I missed out almost two years of my own mom & she's already 87 years old, plus I had a brother to pass away unexpectedly during all of this a year ago & I'm only now getting to really grieve him. I am still stunned he turned out to be this way. It hurt yeah, but he'll nvr truly be happy. I pray for him. I do.

Must be one of the most important posts I've seen on this topic. Think I needed to learn about NPD though so I could learn why I'm codependent - there's a puzzle/maze that needs to be solved first - but you're right - the puzzle is inside me not anyone else. Why did I make myself a victim, unconsciously or consciously. But you are right. I needed to draw a line. It was drawn for me really. I had to delete my Facebook account. Well there I go again! I didn't HAVE TO delete it. I chose to because I realised it's the perfect tool for bullying. It's a popularity contest. I also read up on the objectives of Facebook after watching the Circle by Dave Eggars. I realised they want people to have no privacy. I was running a group for abused women and tried to create an alias. They kicked me out of my alias account. I created a situation where I found out what Facebook is REALLY about which made it impossible for me to stay in denial so I unfriended all my friends and deleted my account. Then two days later watched this video. It feels like an amazing coincidence. I was about to set myself up, like you, as a coach focusing on narcissism. After watching your video I am seriously reconsidering whether this is the best use of my time as I have other incredibly world changingly important projects to work on. I feel pulled in two directions. I still see narcissists everywhere. Thank you for this. I will try to apply this exercise and see how I feel with this new superpower. You're a star.

Belief of being Selfish has the deepest roots in my being for as long as I can remember. So hard to overcome that. Tried to be unselfish in many different ways, until I drained the last drop of the life force in me. Then I hugged my self in hard times, loved my self, being with my emotions in quiet, taking care of the body and so on. Everything helped, but people who know me, can still trigger me on that belief. I don't react or respond to the outside world, but it always seem like some kind of black out. I loose concentration, I feel without an energy, I loose self confidence, I start to believe that something bad should happen to me and so on. Triggers are usually when someone verbaly or nonverbaly shows how bad he/she is feeling because of me, although I've done everything we agreed, and was really careful to not hurt anyone. After watching this video I agree that I have enough of pointing it outwards. So, I know now, that they are just poking me in my weak spot, which is "being selfish". Maybe the cognitive dissonance is in its play here. Probably. I don't trust myself. So it is vicious circle. Thank you Melanie for your videos. Like someone here says, yes, your videos rule, because in all of them you point our energy back to us.... i sooooo appreciate that. All the best to all thrivers.

Wetiko, is this the same as Maya in Hinduism?
@LivingAnExaminedLife
7 жыл бұрын
Maya can be thought of as "transitory or temporary illusion," and refers to our material world, including everything and everyone in it (as well as us). Maya does not mean that our world isn't 'real,' only that it is a temporary, ever-changing reality that can't held onto or possessed in any way. In Hinduism, the world is considered a great cosmic play (or dramatic act) of the Brahman (God) coming on stage in disguise and playing every role simultaneously. On the other hand, Wetiko is a type of mind-parasite of no consciousness and no empathy that exists *within* Maya and presently infects our species. When we struggle with narcissistic abuse we are directly encountering and suffering the effects of this insidious mind-virus, and the antidote is to heal the ways in which we are unconscious to ourselves (unhealed wounds in our inner being) so as not to get hooked into enabling and empowering the Wetikos. If enough people wake up, the virus will wither away and lose its stranglehold on our species. As Melanie said, the Wetiko mind-virus feeds on the unconscious energy of believing "life happens TO me rather than THROUGH me." Seeing through that illusion, and realizing that life happens from the *inside-out* rather than the outside-in, is part of breaking the Wetiko spell; the other healing antidote being to make-whole the unconscious wounds in our inner being. And if you awaken to this truth, you might also see through Maya, and know that everyone, even the Wetikos, are really divinity itself behind the cosmic drama. We are all made of the same God-stuff. As painful and cruel as Wetikos can be, there is an aspect of them that reflects back to us unconsciousness in ourselves, and so they offer us an opportunity to learn, grow, and awaken to deeper truths of life.

Hi Paphaela, I'm happy to help. It's Wetiko. It's a concept written about by Paul Levy in his book called Dispelling Wetiko. Love and blessings xoxox

Melanie Tonia Evans I just looked it up thanks. I'm real worried about it though. I made a horrible decision 2 years ago and my life has fallen apart.
