I've been a Port Authority bus driver for nearly 20 years. I've been in just about every neighborhood in this city. At some point I for various reasons I grew.....a distaste for this city. About a year ago I subscribed to your Channel and saw the city from a different View, other than from behind the steering wheel of a bus. YOU inspired me to get into bicycling,YOU inspired me to get out and explore again, but most of all YOU made me LOVE this city again. I hope that will inspire YOU to continue doing what you LOVE

Can't get much better of an answer to an existential crises than that! Also, good on ya for not being too jaded. I think I would hate this city too even after driving a city bus for 20 minutes.

The point of doing anything is to grow and learn and experience life. There is a life of stagnation and resignation, and then there is a life of mistakes and failures filled with love and experimentation. Real life is a mix of both these things. No one has any of it figured out. The best you can do is try, and hope you tried it right.

The point of doing anything at all is relationships. People make an erroneous assumption that they are a localized unity that is separate from everything else in the universe because they enjoy a unique perspective (i.e., a "self") that looks at the rest of the world. Instead, we are the relationships we have with everything. We know who we are only through our interactions with others and our environment. Heidegger said something similar, that when "Dasein" ceases to relate through Being-in-the-world, Dasein is "no more there-being" (nicht-mehr-Dasein). We are what we do, what we are passionately engaged with, who we relate to, and even the qualitative way in which we relate to things and people.

“Your conflicts, all the difficult things, the problematic situations in your life are not chance or haphazard. They are actually yours. They are specifically yours, designed specifically for you by a part of you that loves you more than anything else. The part of you that loves you more than anything else has created roadblocks to lead you to yourself. You are not going in the right direction unless there is something pricking you in the side, telling you, “Look here! This way!” That part of you loves you so much that it doesn’t want you to lose the chance. It will go to extreme measures to wake you up, it will make you suffer greatly if you don’t listen. What else can it do? That is its purpose.” A.H. Almaas

All of your work is a celebration of the little details of life. Each byte is an affirmation that the good outweighs the bad. (In fact, if we're honest with ourselves for a second, it's not even close.) Such perfect intricacy cannot be the result of coincidence. Every person and every thing has its purpose. Yours is clearer than most. You should focus on the good (as you do) and highlight that, because that helps others to do so too. That is a very big and meaningful purpose for a life....So don't waste a second; maximize your talent to help others appreciate the universe of love.

Love what you're creating with your hometown channel. Got my sub and looking forward to watching more of your videos. I guess the point of doing anything is that everything changes, everything. Nothing can remain the same so why dwell on BS when you can be doing anything fun, creative, meaningful. You are obviously doing what you love and by even asking that question, you are doing more than you did yesterday. I live in downtown. You make awesome productions. Keep doing this until something changes, for you. :)

The irony of the question, is that you are in fact, doing something by questioning a lack of motivation. A hero can not exist inside of a vacuum (whatever that means). Your mission, if you choose to accept it, is to go to Mercy Hospital and inquire about Operation Safety Net. Do a video on it. It will answer your question, and (hopefully) make you smile. God bless! 🙂

You don't need to be told what the purpose of doing anything is, because your last video already answered that. You said, you want to get over this temporary situation you are in, in order to get back to doing the things you love. Doing those things gave you satisfaction, that that's what keeps motivating you. But, that's not all what life is about. For one, you chose to be here, whether you remember it or not, you made a choice to come to Earth at one time. With that, you were given Free Agency to make your own choices in life. One of the main objectives is, making good choices, and quite frankly, that questions that will be asked of you later in time are interestingly enough, things that are written on that piece of paper. If you follow what you were inspired to write, you will learn later how beneficial those choices were. You have a good Spirit about you, so make yourself proud, and do it.
