I'm an empath and this is exactly how i think the world works. Energy is everything and what Energy you put out is the energy you get back. ❤ There is no energy like "you" on earth, energy is eveything and is made of everything, when you die your body goes back into the earth energy reusing remaking life/energy your "soul" goes back into the main source of all energy as you wait to be able to relive a life in some kinda way(reincarnated into mass). Karma is life..

Aleister Crowley wrote “This Will (as such) is not conscious” (Comment D), he also wrote “all our conscious desires are so many masks” (A Memorandum Regarding the Book of the Law), plus “Every time the conscious mind acts, it interferes with the subconscious … one must do one’s will. To question this is to destroy confidence, and so to create an inhibition” (The New Comment). Plus (again) the phrase “the ‘unconscious’ has become so used to doing its ‘True Will’ that there is no need of interference” appears in Letter Two in Magick Without Tears. Although he doesn’t make it as plain as I might prefer, and I wish he had said it more often, to me this means the True Will is not part of our Surface Personality. It is part of what psychologists call the Unconscious Mind. So the concept of the True Will is not a type of Randian Libertarianism! [By writing this, I mean the True Will is not selfish.] The task is to go deep inside into that Unconscious Mind to seek your True Wills. This goes along with what Jung himself wrote: “Until you make the unconscious conscious, it will direct your life and you will call it fate.” The best way for everyone to have the Freedom to pursue these Wills is for there to be a Level Economic Playing Field in which everyone has an Equal Chance to attain their Wills. I am an Utilitarian Consequentialist in this matter. Pursue it, find it, attain it, be it, and do your True Will in all things.

When you think about how many people in (especially fundamentalist) abrahamic religions who have to hide who they really are in order to not "go to hell" etc, etc, I think it becomes extremely apparent that following your own will is the best path to self-acceptance and good mental health.
@Alex-vm6ef

For the sake of perspective, said adherents of abrahamic religions consider the parts of us that are not acceptable to God to be illusory in their connection to our real being, and need stripped from that being
@apothneisko
8 ай бұрын
@@Alex-vm6efThat’s a rather good way to put it. Generally in the Christian tradition, it is viewed that as we are made in God’s image our fullest self is for our will to align with His. As to the OP’s point about hiding who you are to go to hell, it’s not as much hiding a part of yourself as sacrificing the rebellion of your will to align with the Divine Will. This is an ongoing process that is fully completed upon death when one’s being is totally transformed into a perfect state in oneness with God. My personal favorite fairly modern example is of Father Seraphim Rose who is a highly esteemed Hieromonk from California who left Christianity in high school and studied Chinese philosophy and languages during university and eventually graduated with a masters degree. While getting his undergraduate degree he would be exposed to the Orthodox Church through his boyfriend who had gradually left it behind but Rose found it interesting. He would convert a year after receiving his masters degree. He distinguished himself in the ROCOR and a year later would start a Christian publishing house that eventually become a monastery that still stands today (St. Herman of Alaska Monastery). Father Rose has not yet been officially canonized as it’s still rather close to his death but is widely venerated through the Orthodox Church and is noteworthy as being an explicitly gay man who gave up being in a relationship with another to pursue a relationship with God as a monk and he recommended that path to other gay individuals.

The strangest of things just happened to me... I consider myself to be an agnostic in quest of a spiritual connection I guess, but I´ve always rejected the big monotheist religions. I´ve recently developped an interest for wicca and witchcraft, as a complete novice, curious to know more. As I fell into a rabbit hole, I ended up looking up Thelema and found your video. Exactly at the moment you mentioned Aleister Crawley, I heard thunder, I´m listening with headphones, unsure whether or not it came from the video, I replayed the passage and heard the thunder once again at the exact same time as the first time. Convinced it came from the video, I kept on listening when I suddenly heard it much louder and understood it came from where I am! I stop the video to find out there is a big thunderstorm outside... Should I take this as a sign that this is my new religion?

This is such a great video. Right now i feel identified with Luciferianism. I do not engage in practical Luciferianism yet but i find it very interesting. Ive read about Thelema and OTO before but not that much, i guess that Fraternitas Saturni is the one ive been interested the most. I think that at the end spiritual philosophies such as Thelema, Luciferianism, Yoga and Shaivism all agree on the same which is spiritual transformation, to use the teachings of our lower soul not to indulge in it, but to transform, and to aspire to the higher octave of Saturn which is Lucifer and become in tune with our higher self. As Aleister Crowley said the Devil is not the enemy but the one who made gods of ourselves, people fear him because they dont know his formula. It all depends on your intentions and the way you approach god, as Krishna said: the way you approach me, so i will approach you. If you remain in your lower self all the time and approach god that way then god will turn into the Devil, if you approach him with self transformation as your objective he will turn into the Supreme being, just like Lord Shiva, he can take many forms depending of the needs and intention of his devotees. Alan Watts said: The gods created this world for fun. At the end of times the supreme Brahman will reveal that everything was just a Play, a lila as Hinduism says and that the purpose of creation was not to take it too seriously but to enjoy it and realize that god is inside ourselves and that we are god, and when we realize that we will be able to follow our true will which at the end is the will of god.

If you would be willing to have a conversation with me. that would be much appreciated. I have a small study group on the occult and alchemy with a little over 900 members. I'd love to have a more in-depth discussion, but for the sake of time, I'd be curious to know what you think about the dangers of only following the inner will (which can be interpreted in anyway as you stated). I feel as if confirmation bias is a huge problem in the occult practices given the nature of synchronicities and general emphasis on subjective truths. How do you or would you suggest a fellow occultist dodge confirmation bias and self-deception while staying true to the Work. L.V.X
@MaeviusLynn
5 күн бұрын
Thank you for reaching out. I also run a small study group on Discord that people are welcome to join through my Patreon (or contact me directly to join if there is a case of financial hardship). Within the Thelemic framework, knowing your Will is something that comes with the Knowledge and Conversation (K&C) with your Holy Guardian Angel (HGA). K&C is the mystical marriage with your HGA that occurs at Tiphareth. The work to get to K&C can be long and hard. It changes you. My suggestion is to stick with it. If you are prone to confirmation bias and self-deception, then you might benefit from doing such work in a group with a teacher that keeps you grounded and gives you feedback like the A∴A∴.
@Atopos333
5 күн бұрын
@MaeviusLynn well I'm not practicing thelema, but I'm an occultist apart of other organizations and looking to become a philosopher, and I'm aware of the contact with the HGA but I'm worried that it could really ignite confirmation bias and self deception to a powerful degree. This sort of subjective tyranny can lead to things like psychosis and can rationalize and excuse terrible behaviors such as the ones Crowley was accused of. Does Thelema do anything to combat this ?
@MaeviusLynn
5 күн бұрын
Yes. As I said, there is a whole system full of tools both esoteric and mundane. On top of that there is feedback for those who want it as well as community support in various organizations. You can read though the A∴A∴ curriculum and do it on your own, but you lose the benefits of a teacher and that support. I think what you might want to know is how the organizations Crowley left behind, like OTO and A∴A∴. function and how learning is done within those systems and how issues are handled. Esoterically speaking, look into Crowley's idea of the "black brotherhood" and other people's writing on that topic. Additionally Crowley wrote extensively on his ideas on ethics and misuse of power. There is plenty out there. It just requires a little digging. I hope that helps.

Thanks. This is a 12 minute quick KZitem primer not a dissertation. There is a vast ocean of things I want to cover and talk about and plan to do so either later or in a more appropriate format. And for the record there is so very much more than Rabelais. He is recognized as one of the 72 gnostic saints by Ecclesia Gnostica Catholica. Among the other 72 saints is Swinburne, Roger Bacon, Christian Rosencreutz, John Dee, Sir Edward Kelly, Adam Weishaupt, Wolfgang von Goethe, Alphonse Louis Constant, and so many more that deserve mention and recognition. I think the best way to do so would be through a book or a whole dedicated video to each of the 72 gnostic saints. would you consider doing a video about how Thelema is RHP and not LHP? To me Thelema seems to be LHP to some degree. I suppose if the thelemite worships a deity then that would be definitely RHP, but worship seems to be a 50/50 kind of thing with thelema from what I've read. To me Knowledge and Conversation with the Holy Guardian Angel is akin to Apotheosis. Thelema isn't antinomian it would seem especially with clarifying "Do What Thou Wilt" but it seems like Thelema is mute on this... maybe theres two types of antinomialism, one active and one passive, but it seems like its an aspect of who you are at least in my experience. Thelema doesn't seem to really be pushing an agenda to align with any kind of status quo, but I'm re-entering the Thelemic scene from a decade or more ago. I was never a Thelamite, but I had a very basic understanding of it.

Why is the checker floor under the stage,like the freemasons? Are they connected? Just wondering
@MaeviusLynn
Жыл бұрын
Yes. That is a High Altar used in a public performance of the Gnostic Mass. The Gnostic Mass is the primary public ritual performed by the OTO. The OTO is what is considered a paramasonic organization. Thelema is recognized as the central religious principle of the OTO. There is some visual overlap in ritual tools and temple space used in freemasonry.

I’m reading all the comments glorifying Crowley’s channeled book. Why was he called the most wicked man in the world and isn’t he a Satanist? Is everyone here a Satanist?

A tabloid called him the "most wicked man in the world" because that's what tabloids do. They say wild, sensational things to sell more magazines. It's not grounded in any sort of truth. Crowley was not a Satanist. Most of the people here are Thelemites and not Satanists.

so basically they view Crowley as a prophet. i mean, we get it. not in a muslim or christian sense a kind of prophet nonetheless.
