In the Middle Ages, Małopolska was the most important district of Poland, in which, next to royal Krakow, there were numerous castles, which were the seats of the most eminent noble families of Poland at that time. Lesser Poland can be safely called the land of castles and there will be no exaggeration in this statement. Beautiful mansions and monumental strongholds are a permanent element of the local landscape. Most of them are the main tourist attractions of the region, but there are also less popular castles. Today we would like to take you to the vicinity of Tarnów, where we will visit three strongholds belonging to influential royal advisers at the court of the Piasts and Jagiellons.
