I read in a worm group someone said that she was being harassed by someone on her videos. I guess she decided to walk away, I miss her videos too and I frequently come back to rewatch them

Raising worms is a trial and error process. I prefer totes over flow through. Easier to handle. Produced over 300lbs of castings in first year. Watch these videos and decide what works for u. I keep everything outside in wintertime I put bins on heat pads. Works great.

What is that bag you are using, looks like a clean way to get worm castings.

Hi lilian, thank you for another brilliant video. Love what you're doing. Do you think I could use finely shredded barley straw as the carbon element of the worm food. Thank you xxx.

I have had the best results either flow through casting at the bottom of my UWB. But I'm going to try what you demo here. Will you report on how that went for you?

The good thing about Alaska is that anything in my leaves get frozen. By the time I bring them in the house they have gone through a leaf chopper and are put in plastic bags. They stay frozen until I need them. Nice looking castings.

I am trying to move Blue worms out of a bin that is a year old. The worms are all thru the bedding/castings from top to bottom and it is a foot deep. I thought worms stayed in the top few inches of the bin? I am trying to get them to move to one side and go into new food and bedding that I added today. Is it normal for them to be a foot deep?

Worms will migrate to the food eventually. It takes a couple of weeks. They can live at the bottom of the bin and not migrate up. It isn't unusual. Typically though, they do follow the food.

Last 4 feedings all on same end of tub to promote migration . Then I start removing castings from other end .about 1/3 of castings are removed. I then remove any worms back to active bed and start the waiting for eggs to hatch stage. After 2 weeks I put banana , melon or avocado into casting bin and begin to bait out wisps. This goes on till I need I need the castings or most of eggs are hatched. The original bed then becomes a continual one end migration set up till there are so many worms that I need to remove half ..thats when I set up a new bin and pocket feed for 3-4 months.
