The human is not made to run. Walking is not a problem,but running is just a last chance defensive tool. just look at how the bones/pelvis/spine are. the members motion is mechanically ugly and inefective on humans. lot of weight on long feet eating a lot of energy.
@alaatarek9353

Alaa Tarek actually we evolved to be able to run for longer distances than our prey so they would tire out and collapse of exhaustion, this is the oldest hunting tradition still used in some places in the world today
@michaelovitch
10 жыл бұрын
Chris urquhart yep and a lot of peoples forgot humans don't wear shoes originally... without them you can't even run on surfaces with rocks, broken wood pieces etc... you are slowed down like mad on sand/dusty/moist ground because of the very bad weight surface ratio of a nude foot. the human weight is not suspended like on all predators.(wich have 4 legs...) all the impact is directly transmitted through the whole body wich suffer a lot. it's not suspended on the 4 legged animals spine like on a leaf spring. running is an escaping mode,not an habitual travelling mode for humans.
@ItsTheAOK
10 жыл бұрын
michaelovitch Very good point - without shoes, injuries are a certainty and would make you instantly vulnerable to attackers. On top of that - those people in africa that do that style of hunting carry water bottles and sometimes other supplies - its a massive energy investment that requires planning too: stalking at a walking pace with maybe some short bursts of running, using our intellect sounds much more plausable. With that said, most people run improperly - using a heel strike/jog form, only invented in the 1970s. If your strike is consistently mid-foot or on the ball then your knees don't get strained by coming in front of your hip; your centre of gravity doesn't oscillate up and down as much (a barely noticable amount if you get the form right) and you use the elasticity of muscles and tendons to support your weight and propel you forward - weight/impact is not put directly onto bone and contact time with the ground is shorter per stride. And a clean lifestyle will get you down to a light weight so accelerating your mass barely feels like work at all. But I would agree that non-stop, long distance running may not be our ideal transport method, although that kind of fitness is good. More on point with the video - it sounds like he has some issues that he's trying to escape from - he has a habit which he knows isn't wholly good for him. But this comment is long enough: end!
@Alashify

Men can outrun any creature on this planet when given enough time. There are regular races where we outrun horses. The ability to track and run down wildlife moving across the steppes when the climate changed is what many believes made us survive where the Neanderthal did not. Suddenly makes sense that tens of thousand meet up every year to run marathons. Recreation has its uses.

Domenica S. Hi Domenica - I always try to eat something in the morning before I run, but try to keep it light, like maybe a piece of bread with peanut butter or almond butter or half of an apple. If I'm going to do a long run, I'll eat more than that but still not too much. I don't always do it, but warming up is great before running - even just jumping jacks or leg swings - it helps get the blood moving and loosens up joints so that it's not such a shock when you actually start running. Also, don't start too fast - the best way to run is to start easier and build up speed as the run goes along if you can. have fun running!

The Fragz you taste the blood because you're breathing from your mouth only and your heart is producing twice as the amount it usually does when you're running, doesn't mean the blood will come out your mouth, but since you're breathing through your mouth only it just get a little bit of the taste, like a smell I guess. If you breathe in from your mouth and out your nose it should help lol
@chrisesca9927

The Fragz its probably stress relieving because of the hormone endorphins secreted when you run, called a runners high

I used to run 8 laps in my park everyday which was about 4 miles. I was always really tired afterwards and always struggled to breath during, even after going everyday for over a month. It made me feel good about myself knowing that I got up and exercised and that I was doing something good for my body. He isn't lying when he says it is addictive, that is for sure lol. I have experienced that addiction, just not to the extreme he did. Would never run a race like this but 5k's were fun! Exercise really does help with stress and a lot of other things. It always made me feel great mentally, even if I didn't feel so great physically

I'm not saying you should go join XC I'm just saying once you really try and push yourself and explore how much your body can handle- you will be amazed.

+Izzy Noel exactly - time, practice, consistency, motivation & patience is all you need! this time last year I struggled to walk a mile without a rest. Now my normal runs are 3-4 miles! I never thought I could run - until one day in June I ran my first full mile. After that I was hooked! No longer about weight loss - that's just a bonus!

This is no longer a healthy lifestyle,extremes are never a good thing.Running 20-30 miles a week is plenty for a healthy body,beyond that, you start damaging your heart,joints,chemical balances etc.It's funny that people have no idea what kind of strain running puts on your body.
@ElectricPyroclast

It's the same reason people climb Everest. They know what they do does little to benefit their health (it often does the opposite, naturally). But, they are in it for personal achievement and accomplishment. They're not making these extremes a habit! Just a good once-in-a-lifetime, I've-done-it feeling, ya know?
@maxlantz6107

Running twenty to thirty miles per week isn't anywhere near the limit. If you know how to run properly and are at the level of fitness where you can fully recover from a medium-length (5 to 10 mi) run within 12-16 hours, you can run up to about 60 without causing any damage, lasting or not.

Thank you for inspiring me to go all out on life. I am in cross country and track. I am a distance type of person. I love running. This has shown me that it is possible to run as much as I run! All my friends tell me that I'm crazy but I disagree. Running is more than moving your legs and arms it is a life style, but for me it is love. Might sound crazy but it is true!!! Hope this video has inspired you as much as it has for me! P.S, have a good day.
