Yo. Squirrels make some crazy noises. I live in south florida and regularly go to the everglades. We have florida panthers (pumas, mountain lions, whatever you wanna call them) and gators, and bears, and bobcats, all of which will fuck your day all up. When a squirrel decides to make noise they will shake branches, throw seeds from trees, or do this weird noise with their teeth that sounds like a fucking pigmy rattle snake. I've legit shit my pants because a squirrel decided to fuck with me. I was pooping in the J.W. Corbett wildlife management area and the fucker jumped from a tree right behind me into the cattails, sounded just like a gator slapping the water. I immediately pulled my pants up mid-shit and ran back to camp as my bowles continued doing their thing, because it was around the time that gator babies were finishing up hatching and I aint trying to become lunch. Tl;Dr fuck squirrels.

That's awesome ♥ a smart young man who set out to live life as he truly wanted. People tend to not like people who don't fit the mold of society, and that's exactly who Chris McCandles was. I used to love the movie Into The Wild, but in recent times with this pandemic and the fact that Americans are losing all of their rights and freedoms, I can't bring myself to watch that movie because it breaks my heart. I would love to move my family up to Alaska for a sense of freedom, but I don't think we could afford it and it just seems too drastic to me. But sometimes I really wish I was born there. Sincerely, a girl from Michigan, one of the most corrupt States in America and feeling like I'm drowning in it. - Keeping my faith in Christ.

I live in Michigan, and despite the great lakes...which is always too cold to even go in, we have hot humid summers full of squitos', chill to the bone winters where everyone is driving themselves into ditches to get to work on time, and the only wild life I see are over populated deer that often run directly in front your car causing your vehicle alot of damage, or raccoons in your garbage. And theres no much scenery unless you're willing to go up north or to the UP. Seems like alaska is a step up from MI to me.

I think moose may be similar to our Australian kangaroos. Not a vicious animal in general but to protect themselves if cornered (or their young, as you mentioned) they are strong enough to kill people. When I'm in the bush I keep a wary distance from them.I'm visiting Fairbanks next March so was very interested in this. It was such fun and you made me smile 😀

I get where you're coming from with vacationing in Alaska. I grew up in San Diego, Virginia Beach, and Seattle--all beautiful places. But as a resident, especially as a kid, I'd wonder why would anyone want vacay here? That's until I met a guy from Ohio who had never seen an ocean or had his toes in beach sand. Sometimes, you just take things for granted. But I'd never take the northern lights for granted, so fascinating. My dad (Navy Chief) would go to Alaska often, and then come home and describe the vibrant colors of the northern lights...and I still want to see them in person.

Ten reasons why we have lived in interior Alaska after living in New Jersey, Michigan, New Hampshire, Maine, Montana, Idaho, Utah and Virginia: 1) No state income tax 2) No sales tax. After age 64, waiver on first $150,000 assessment on property tax, 3) No vehicle inspections. No road salt and low humidity so vehicles do not rust out. 4) No traffic. No traffic light from Fairbanks to Circle on the Steese Hwy, Fairbanks to Manley Hot Springs on the Elliot Hwy, for example. 5) Long, warm summers (May-Sept) with days in the 70s-80s. 6) An international airport minutes away from home. 7) Quiet, affordable neighborhoods with 3-10 acre parcels. 8) The Northern Lights 9) The feel of a small town with all the big box stores if you want them (Home Depot, Lowes, Walmart, Cosco, etc.) 10) Some of the best fishing/hunting/climbing/canoeing, backpacking, cross-country skiing in the world.

My children and I like your channel because there's no violence, profanity or pornography. As a Mormon that's very important to us. There's hardly a venue without the above negative aspects. My daughter just celebrated her Sweet Sixteen Birthday and commented about your channel as being "WHOLESOME" which surprised and pleased me immensely, since like her late mother (who was killed when my daughter was four months old) she's very critical about things. I know I might seem like a pest, but it's refreshing to watch something positive these days. My other choice would be to watch religious channels. But that could be negative to always be inundated with the End is coming! Thanks for posting your videos. We're going to Sitka very soon. Good luck with your schooling. This is a town called Palmer, about an hour north of anchorage, but I’m out in the suburbs. Petersburg’s kinda isolated, isn’t it? Where would you be moving from? -Jacob

No one that’s ever been to Palmer thinks Palmer is Alaska at its best. Wasilla is just ghetto Anchorage and Palmer is just ghetto Eagle River. (I’m from Eagle River).

That is something someone from eagle river would say

It is. I didn’t even come up with that. That’s just what I’ve heard other ppl that live in Eagle River say and Palmer. Great video though. Very realistic about what Alaska life is like.

Make more videos of the place please. You're pretty entertaining. I just watched a video on the homeless in Anchorage and buying Alaska. And of course I grew up watching Northern Exposure.

I was just recently living there in Seattle. It's now my favorite city in the world but way too expensive there. I can't stand paying for a parking spot or garage. Well, I think you are pretty good at editing your videos and you have a good personality. So that should get you far on KZitem. Take videos of everything :-)

Well, i'm from Brazil and in the end of this year i am going to move to Anchorage Alaska. And... Well... Here is really hot... And we almost don't feel cold or something like that, cuz' almost every single day - even when is winter - is hot, almost 42°C when we are in summer. And i actually am used to it, so i don't really know how to deal with the cold.

Andréa Luiza: From what I can tell brazil is %1000 nicer than ol’ AK, so you have my condolences. It never really gets above like 30°C, even with our record-hot summers we’ve been having lately. Sweaters. Buy a wool sweater. And a nice warm hat.

You can certainly give it a shot, of course it all depends on what your experiences are and what you’re willing to put up with. It is very isolating, but beautiful. Where in the lower 48?

I found your video by chance when I decided to see what might be on YT about Alaska. I enjoyed your video, it was just enough humorous to be entertaining. I would personally carry a can of bear spray with me wherever I went. Even in town, you just never know where those shaggy bears will show up. I was privileged to visit your beautiful state in 1994. It was part of a tour so I didn't have a lot of free time, but we saw a LOT of Alaska thanks to our AAA planner. We arrived Anchorage and got to tour the city, learned about the horrible earthquake that made them rebuild on a new site. Ate at Captain Cooks, sampled caribou, moose, and elk, and salmon. From there we went by bus to Fairbanks, and spent the night. I got to visit the Harley dealer there and got an awesome shirt as a reminder. Somewhere along the way, we were treated to a salmon dinner cooked right in front of us. We saw the salmon pulled out of the water with a wheeled fish trap, filleted, and cooked on the spot. It simmered over hickory coals, It was incredible!. Then we went by bus to the Yukon territory where we enjoyed some pretty good variety shows. Then we stayed at a log lodge within sight of Denali. Couldn't see it, the clouds covered it. We went through a section of Denali park by bus, saw bear, moose, and some rams were standing on a cliff watching the bus go by. We were maybe 30 feet away. I can't remember where we stopped, but we took a small plane up to Kotzebue where we spent two days and two nights. Then we took a boat up to the glaciers. That was awesome. Saw some kayakers paddle like madmen when one of the glaciers calved a huge piece. They got far enough away to be safe but the waves gave them a scary ride. After that we were on a tour boat that made the stops you mentioned. We were treated like royalty on that ship. It think it was before leaving Anchorage, we took a boat ride on a river and then a plane ride that lasted about two hours. They showed us a big section of southern Alaska. It was a trip to remember for life. So big and wild when you were not in a city. We got to stand on midnight dome and actually see the sun still showing at midnight. That must have been Dawson City. It's been a long time, I'm having trouble remembering details. At Kotzebue we rode in dog sled and went gold prospecting in the ocean. It was beautiful up there. I could have moved there but I did not wish to leave my family behind, so I returned to WI and made the best of things.

Hey you wanna swap places for a while ?LOL!!🤪😋. Keep up the great work n take care of u n yours. So blessed to live in such a beautiful place, no matter its faults, everyplace has plenty. You'll figure one day that it ain't so bad, there's alot worse n it's as good or bad as u make it or let it be.
