Massai knew about the mind Sr Year in HS. She occasionally forgets. But Sr Year in HS she put up a youtube about her team "hating" on her and she had zero support. She had to do it on her own and focus on what she was doing no matter what anyone else thought about her. And they were not going to celebrate her. But she's figuring it out now on this higher level near the top of Mt Olympus. I'm so glad to hear her say it. The mind going to make it happen.

Steve Magness, who is a sports researcher and was a track coach at University of Houston, said he tracked the performance of his athletes and said the athletes who improved the most were usually the most consistent to show up to practice. Might seem silly to us laymen, but maybe for athletes like y’all it could mean something about mindsets of consistency and wanting to improve. BTW you left out the final L in the title for Masai’s name.

I think what has happened is that good, above average 100m sprinters found there was a gap open in the 100m hurdles and we see thos sprinters going for the hurdle more than before. Of you think about it the womens hurdle height isn't that terrible, a decent sprinter has a better chance of success in hurdles. And so the times WR has started to improve a lot since Tokyo 2020.

It’s hard to gauge the genetical potential of Indians since they’re such an extremely large people and don’t have the history of varied sport as other, smaller peoples. For example, the Indian relay team was brand new at WC2023, but they actually looked world class. Recently, a Guyanese person online showed his genetics profile ( he was 100% ethnic Indian ) and 23 and Me said he had the genes for fast twitch muscle fibers. This means Indians probably DO have genes that could benefit things like sprinting, but they don’t have the culture and state sponsored apparatus for these things yet. We may see an elite Indian sprinter in our lifetime.
