I am an ELCA Lutheran from South Carolina. Today (December 11, Advent 3), Psalm 146:5-10 was our Psalm of the Day. However, we did our second option and read aloud Luke 1:46b-55. The prophecy continues. Jesus is on his way into the world.

There is a hymn that can compliment this psalm. It is Creating God, Your Fingers Trace. It was written by Jeffery Rowthorn. It can be sung to PROSPECT, from W. Walker, Southern Harmony, 1835.

I been looking for this song for the last 10 years! First heard it at The City Church, Kirkland, WA now Churchome by GC Band on their debut album, "All Things New". Remind me of our Pastors Judah and Chelsea Smith.

If the story of Abraham is a legend (which I know you haven`t read) then why bother commenting on it? Let me check my mental health here for a moment--If God doesn`t exist then why would anyone go out of there way to even bother denying God`s existence if he doesn`t exist to begin with?, Unless of course something else was bothering them. I wonder what that might be? I mean people don`t suppress the truth for nothing do they?

You can`t take the Bible out of context, "Abraham, Abraham, . . he said. "do not lay your hand on the boy or do anything to him; for now I know that you fear God. . .since you have not withheld your only son from me."--Now look what God did, he never held back his only son for us! For God so loved the world that (he gave his only begotten son) that whosoever believeth upon him . . . should not perish but shall have everlasting life. John 3:16

Do not confuse joy with delusion. Do not confuse wonder with hallucinations. Talking to ghosts again? Praising that invisible wizard in the sky once again, as ancient desert tribes did? You live most of your life in the real world, so why take these choreographed and manipulative excursions into long-debunked mythologies and stale fantasies? Keep it real, brothers and sisters.
