In the 2024 Paris Olympics, Uzbekistan won 5 gold medals in boxing across 7 categories. Two of these boxers became two-time champions. Bakhodir Djalalov made history as the first-ever two-time Olympic champion in the super heavyweight division.

Great videe bro. I also heard that because boxing is in their schooling system, as many as 1 in 3 box at some stage. So it is their national sport. Having said all that, they have under achieved at pro level in my opinion. Many of the expected stars just haven't delivered as expected. Melikuziev for instance hasn't reached the heights many predicted. Jalolov is a monster, but they're moving him too slowly
@boxingontheedge11

Thanks a lot Chris. It didn't come out exactly how id have liked but non the less. Really appreciate your comment though. That is very interesting that it's part of the school system. I agree, they have, although the next couple of years we should find out if they are able to finally breakthrough into pro success. Melikuziev is closing in tbf after his little hiccup VS Rosado (1). Hopefully Jalolov now that he is with TopRank can get a move on cos. Madrimov, Dusmatov and Giyasov are also in the mix, so we will see. On the 25th Ergashev is fighting for a world title vs Matias but I can't see him getting past that beast. Anyways, thanks again, hope you are well.

That's fair enough. From the outside looking in it certainly seems to me that the level of appreciation and admiration the people have for their fighters is far above normal praise. Perhaps worship is a little far. How would you describe how the people feel towards the fighters that bring home glory?

I quite clearly say 'arguably'. I was also only talking about the Cuban style. You could also argue the Black American style is one of the greatest, if not the greatest style too, it's an utterly wonderful style . The Black American style is a style very close to my heart and is a style that I was raised on, it's beautiful. Please try to listen to the actual words that I said before you comment falsities. I also was not even talking about which was more 'successful' as you eluded too. I was simply talking about the style.
