You can start using only Cetaphil and water and nothing else(nothing else except a sunscreen). Dont wash with soap, dont use maekup, etc for atleast 2 months. You'll start to see major changes. My sister had the same problem and now matter how much I told her to just leave her skin alone and use only water, she wouldnt listen and would use face washes everyday. I think what she meant about that “dna has nothing to do with great skin” comment is that you can have great skin too if you truly take great care of it and also what you eat has a huge part of it... your dna does however make your skin different to others .. so you have to find what treatments work for you.. not everyone is the same. Consistency is Definitely KEY THO.. don’t give up just because you haven’t found what works for you, keep trying till something sticks.

That’s because DNA does play a major role in it. Notice her head shook no when she said it. She’s lying. Even just your sex plays a major role because estrogen helps prevent acne while testosterone doesn’t. I’d have to double check this but I believe testosterone can actually create acne/make it wooded. That’s why women break out near their periods (because less estrogen is released once they ovulate through having their period) and it’s very common for teenage boys to have really bad, all over the face acne (bc of the huge surge in testosterone during puberty). Personally I think the other reason it’s common for teenage boys to have issues with acne is because skincare conversations don’t happen as often with them as with women sadly.
