I believe in Jesus Christ and trust his grace. I believe in God the Father. I believe in the holy Spirit. I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of latter-day saints. I follow Christ and so I consider myself Christian, but I understand that not all want me in the club. Either way I will keep living and loving and following my savior. Thanks for making the attempt to understand our religion. I appreciate your faith in the Jesus and the Christian voice you present on social media.

These days, we like to call ourselves the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints? That is and has always been the name of the Church. Notice that it has the name of Jesus Christ in the title, does yours? Jesus said by their fruits shall you know them. Maybe you should actually spend some time finding out what the Church believes, instead of echoing old worn-out half truths, untruths, and items taken out of context. It's hard to believe in a definition of God that is not found or supported in the Bible. The trinity is a man made concept and not at all what the Bible teaches. The principles and doctrines taught by the church are eternal and given to man by revelation as has ever been throughout history. That is why this gospel appeals to honest, sincere, and humble people seeking truth. It is the only reason this church continues to grow, while many other churches have a hard time keeping members. We teach the gospel freely as Jesus and the apostles did. We have no paid clergy. Young 18 year old missionaries volunteer to leave home for two years. Pay their own expenses for their time in the mission field. We all serve in one way or another voluntarily in various church callings that we may service the Lord and try to become more Christ like.

Well, if this was your attempt to be kind to us, I can't quite say "Nice try." More like, "Mediocre Try." You repeated the Anti-Mormon talking points that have been countered for decades now. You need to do more research. 0:36 Fact Check False. Study Hieratic and Demotic Egyptian before claiming that a Reformed Egyptian language doesn't exist. 0:56 Why is adding anything to the Bible a problem? Surely God who is the same yesterday, today, and forever can still speak to us today? 1:07 I understand you might have a problem with polygamy, but if you want to argue that a man having multiple wives means he is so immoral and carnal that he cannot possibly be a prophet, then you're going to have to explain to me why Abraham, Jacob, Moses, David, and Solomon had multiple wives, and why most of them are considered prophets and are still the great men of the Old Testament we look back to with admiration? Our Church is the only Christian faith I know of that accounts for the Biblical practice of polygamy while still reasonably restraining it for obvious reasons. 1:19 So what? It's a proven historical fact that the Bible has had a lot of material taken out from it, and its thousands of years old. We don't know everything that was removed from it. If Joseph Smith really was a prophet, he very well could have been foretold by other ancient prophets, and if he really was a prophet, he could have brought it back by Godly inspiration. The basic logic behind your statement here is, 'Joseph Smith claimed to be a prophet, therefore he wasn't.' Bruh... 2:35 The funny thing is, when trying to describe the difference between the Trinity and the LDS Godhead, you almost restated our belief twice. "Three separate beings," vs. "one God as three distinct persons." Our belief is that they are three separate and distinct beings who are united in purpose as one Godhead. And last I checked, the Trinitarian belief is NOT that they are three distinct persons, "As also there are not three incomprehensibles, nor three uncreated, but one uncreated, and one incomprehensible," (Athanasian Creed). The LDS Doctrine of the Godhead is non-Nicaean, meaning pre-third century. Christians have not "always" believed it. 2:43 There are multiple Isaiah passages that say, "I am the one and there is none beside me." But if you did some research on it, you would've found out that that phrase is figurative language. Read Isaiah 47:10 & Zephaniah 2:15. I see other people in the comments have pointed this out to you as well. 3:23 The idea of becoming a God may seem crazy at first glance, but it's actually something the Bible teaches. The Early Christians who wrote about theosis and deification understood that. Even in more recent times, CS Lewis understood that. I know Satan saying it doesn't add any credit to the idea, but the best kind of lie is a partial truth, and in the very same chapter of Genesis, verse 22, God confirms that man DID become more like God in the act. Our basis for this belief is NOT Satan's words, it's the Doctrine and Covenants. It was only afterwards, looking back in hindsight, when we also discovered that many Bible passages support this as well. Psalm 82:6/ John 10:34, Matthew 5:48, Romans 8:17, Galatians 4:7, Ephesians 4:11-13, Philippians 3:14-15, 1 John 3:2, and Revelation 3:21. 3:58 Jesus did NOT state that everyone in Heaven is unmarried and single. He said they are not married or given in marriage. Those are verbs, not adjectives. You can check the original Greek as well and see that this refers to the act of being married, not the state of being married. It basically means there are no weddings in Heaven, which is what we believe as well. We believe that whatever is bound on Earth by the keys of the kingdom is bound in Heaven (Matthew 16:19), so marriages meant to last forever have to be performed here on Earth. 4:05 Three levels of Heaven is another doctrine that agrees with the Bible (2 Corinthians 12:2). The reason all 3 are called Heavens is explained in the Doctrine & Covenants. Those in the Celestial Kingdom attain the presence of the Father, Son, and Holy Ghost (ie. the full presence of the Godhead). Those in the Terrestrial attain the presence of the Son, and those in the Telestial attain the presence of the Holy Ghost. How the exact logistics of that work, I don't know. And if you're going to counter this argument by saying that Heaven/Hell is binary, and you're either in the presence of God in Heaven or you're separated from him in Hell, then please explain which of the two this Earth is. 4:22 The confusion over grace is extreme. We DO NOT believe in earning our way to Heaven. We DO NOT believe that the good works we do can compare to God. We DO believe that we have to follow Christ in all that we do, and that obeying him is not earning salvation of our own merits, but partaking of the free gift of grace and allowing it to change us into something better. That's our interpretation of Ephesians 2:10. The works/grace topic is a subject that you have to dive DEEP into to understand properly. If you just give a superficial explanation like you do in this video, then you're probably not prepared to read James Chapter 2, which is ALL ABOUT how we are not saved by faith alone, but by works. You can't explain this subject simply. 5:23 You're seriously going to gatekeep Christianity by claiming that there's a checklist of beliefs besides the divinity of Christ that are required to be Christian? We have many different beliefs from conventional Christianity, yes. We are non-Trinitarian Christians, yes. We believe some different things about the nature of Jesus, yes. But we believe in the same historic Jesus, who was born of the virgin Mary, taught and healed many in the Holy Land, was crucified by Roman soldiers, rose again the third day, ascended into Heaven, and will come again on the Earth. We're talking about the same person, spoken of in the same 4 gospels. We believe in Jesus Christ, therefore we are Christians, simple as that. Many mainstream Christians and Jews have come to an agreement about God. Even though Jews don't believe in the New Testament, or that Jesus is divine, they believe in the same God, the Creator. Despite having disagreements about his nature with the Jesus story, mainstream Christians accept that Jews worship the same God, but they turn around and claim that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-say Saints isn't Christian because of disagreements about his nature. That's severely hypocritical.

"Adding anything unto the Bible is a big no no" says the man who believes in creedal Christianity. Unless you're a religion that believes everyone is saved no matter what, then you are a works based religion. Even something as simple as saying you have faith in Christ is in fact a "work", it is something that you do to receive the grace of God. Thank you for not referring to the garments as "magic underwear". Tithing settlement isn't a requirement. It's an opportunity members have to audit their givings and for some an opportunity to recommit themselves to being better the next year. LOL how is an 18 year old being encouraged to spread the Gospel any different from what you're doing? Aren't all Christians encouraged to spread the Gospel of Christ?
