I just bought this vehicle coming from a 2019 BMW X3. I wanted a little bit bigger SUV, wanted better mileage, less EXPENSIVE maintenance, and didn’t need a 3rd row; just wanted more overall cargo capacity. I’m happy to have the 3rd row for the rare times that I might ever use it. I’ve never owned a Hyundai and I truly thought I’d go look at this and move on to the other 2 vehicles on my shopping list ; the Passport and Highlander. But … when I saw and drove this I was quite pleasantly surprised. I literally test drove this to my home to show it to my wife and she liked it as much as I !!! I think the value is incredible. MSRP of less than 41 grand ( I purchased the base model hybrid to get the basic interior with the bench seat because our dog is almost always with me in back) … gets you an amazing AWD SUV with capacious cargo, tons of standard options, along with excellent gas economy stated at 36/34/ 35 overall. Full disclosure… for the first time ever I purchased the extended warranty for bumper to bumper cover out to 100 thousand miles due to being new to Hyundai and unsure of its reliability so there’s that! That warranty retails for $2500 but I paid $1650. So, in all fairness to Honda and Toyota I’d add that to the MSRP because I’d never be compelled to purchase extended warranty’s on those vehicles. I certainly believe it’s worth checking out. FYI. The infotainment system is excellent and I love that there are physical knobs and buttons for many useful functions. Proof is in the pudding but my initial impression is extremely favorable. Our neighborhood is full of Porches, BMW’s , Audis, and the like and our neighbors probably are scoffing at the Hyundai parked in our driveway! I absolutely do not care what they think. I’ve been fortunate enough to own some fairly fancy cars but none of them have ever made me think or feel any differently about myself. I’m just trying to get from point A to point B and our new Hyundai will certainly suffice to get that done!

We were impressed as well. And the MSRP on this vehicle is amazing. Glad it was a positive experience for you at Hyundai. You must live in an expensive neighborhood, but no one should dictate you what car you drive, haha. Thanks for watching.

How do you review a hybrid and not test drive and discuss the acceleration, etc. The hybrid is the same as the gas version. What we want to know is how's does the reduced horsepower impact it.

Smooth Ride, Disappointing Features: A Budget-Friendly Santa Fe Hybrid Review The Santa Fe Hybrid offers a comfortable ride, but be warned: lower trims (SE/SEL) lack features you might expect. Reviews raving about all the bells and whistles likely focused on the top-of-the-line Calligraphy edition. Here's what surprised me most about the budget-friendly trims: Storage Woes: Finding decent-sized compartments for everyday items proved a challenge. The glove compartment is tiny, barely fitting a single hand. Forget a dedicated sunglass holder - this Santa Fe lacks even basic conveniences my older car had! Missing Conveniences: The passenger seat lacks power adjustments, which some might find inconvenient. No sunroof or panoramic roof for that open-air feel in this trim level. The cargo light is dim, making nighttime trunk access a struggle. Shockingly, even basic floor mats are missing. Parking Woes with the Back Door: This might be a dealbreaker for some city dwellers. Unlike most SUVs with hatchbacks, the Santa Fe's back door hinges at the top. Great for maximizing headroom when using the cargo area as a makeshift seat, but terrible for tight parking situations. This upward-opening design requires significant vertical space to fully access the cargo area. Park too close behind another car, and forget about easily opening the back door. Adding to the frustration, there's no separate back window to access the cargo area from the outside. This means you can't reach in to grab smaller packages or forgotten items without fully opening the entire door. Lessons Learned: Research every aspect of your chosen Santa Fe trim level before buying. Don't assume "standard" features are included on all trims. Consider aftermarket accessories like cargo organizers, floor mats, and a sunglass holder to enhance functionality. Final Thoughts: The SE/SEL Santa Fe Hybrid offers a good value, but be aware of the missing conveniences compared to higher trims or other vehicles. This review aims to help future buyers avoid the surprises I encountered.
