Since I was young, I've always liked coffee with milk, and whenever my gradparents visited, Me and my family would always wake up to the smell of a full-on breakfast, she'd prepared mine and my sisters coffees and it was THE most delicious coffee with milk I've ever tasted, I don't know what she put in it or how she prepared it but It was the best!. She's now passed (so is my grandpa), but every single morning I'm making my coffee, I always remember her for some reason, when I taste my coffee it always sucks in comparison to the one she used to make for me lol, grandmas foods always hit different ig...it makes me miss her a lot, those actions left a core memory for me and makes me wished I had treasured her more when she was alive. Didn't even get to say goodbye when she died bc I didn't had money to go to both of their funerals and that's one of my biggest regrets in life 💔...treasure your gradparents, people!

I feel like a lot of the time when people share the food they eat they talk a lot about sharing culture and not being afraid to do that, and while that's amazing, it is a breath of fresh air to see someone just make this food like it's just good food. With their hands, no beauty shots, very down to earth. Reminds me of my grandma making borsch, blini, vatrushki or pelmeni. Yeah, it's traditional food, but also it's something regular, something you eat often, something familiar and sweet.

@@UnicornsPoopRainbows It tastes the same in my opinion 😋 Her grandma was using a Japanese brand for both the soba noodles and soup base/mentsuyu too, so I think the ingredients are also the same

This is my first time seeing a soba making video. But the moment I saw ice in there, my first thought went to Todoroki's soba.

I don’t get a lot of “my grandparent making a meal for me” anymore cause of the way my senses work. The smell of meat makes me want to gag and makes my throat close up (bacon is the worst and I have to be far away when people cook it) but my family is a very carnivorous family so they don’t really know anything without meat in it. Most of the time I end up making myself something simple while everyone else is enjoying their meat filled plates

@@user-yy2ov7hi1m I stand corrected. I thought Naengmyeon uses seafood broth too, but apparently it only uses beef or chicken broth. I guess the broth is the main difference.
