Can that wyze (waterproof cam) (operate) in direct sunlight in Florida.? Florida sun has been known to melt some plastics.
@SmarthomeRiggs
6 ай бұрын
The camera should be able to put up with Florida's direct sunlight just fine. We have 1 of these V3 Pan cameras setup at a house in Texas and it has been in Texas direct sunlight for over a year with no issues. I would mention that at times when the direct sunlight is in the field of vision there will be a solar flare in the footage that appears as a white spot, but it is only at times that the sun is directly pointing at the lens and this is the same for other cameras as well. I hope this answers your question and thank you for supporting the channel.

If the power goes out or the wifi is down would i be about to see the history videos or still access the Previous videos in the cloud or i would have to wait until the camera is back online
@SmarthomeRiggs
5 ай бұрын
If the power goes out the camera will stop recording and stop uploading to the cloud (except for the outdoor cameras with internal batteries or solar panels, those will still record to their internal Micro SD cards but could not upload to the cloud with no WiFi) If you pay for the Cam Plus you can still see the history that was uploaded prior to the power outage from a PC in a different location (one with power and WiFi) Once the power and WiFi are back up the camera will pick back up from there and you'll be able to access the history on the installed Micro SD card again. I hope this answers your questions and thank you for supporting the channel.

I got a magnet from harbor freight 65 lbs pull magnet drilled the center hole just a tad bigger Used the supplied screw with the Wyze pan V3 and pulled down my old Wyze V3 leaving the metal disk with 3M backing and just put the pan V3 in its place . works great

Way to think outside the box!!! That's AWESOME!!! I used the Magnetic Mount the Pan v1/v2 offered. It has a disk that screws into the bottom, (it's a tab bigger, but works perfect). The hinge also allows you to adjust the angle just right. It even comes with a 15-ft flat white micro USB cable, that you can use for the regular v3 (or the new OG). It's only $8 from Wyze when they get it back in stock, (or currently on eBay for a little more). But a Harbor Freight magnet... That is genius... Thanks for leaving a comment and sharing this Wyze Cam Pan v3 hack with our Smarthome Riggs community.

I would try resetting the firmware in the device using a 4GB or 8GB MicroSD card to see if you can restore functionality. I hope this helps. Thanks for supporting the channel.

The front blue light doesn't indicate that the camera is recording, it just indicates that the camera is on. Other than that, great review!

@@SmarthomeRiggs I believe it changes from blue to red, if it's recording.
@SmarthomeRiggs
Жыл бұрын
that is correct. blue indicates it is on and red means it is recording. You can also turn the led status light off in the settings of the camera (like I do) then it shows no light at all in either state. With the led status off it also doesn't attract bugs at night.

Can this Pan V3 be the add on camera to Wyler floodlight?
@SmarthomeRiggs
Жыл бұрын
Yes it can, The V3 included with the Floodlight can not be replaced with the V3 Pro because of voltage from the integrated plug, but the additional USB on the back can be used to power the V3 pro or the V3 pan. I hope this answers your question and thanks for supporting the channel.

@@waynehavens9932 really? I wonder what's going on with mine. Maybe it's because I'm going from usb a to mini then mini back to usb a? Something is causing both to not work though. I'd like to figure it out. I like the cameras.

Just make sure your USB extension cable is a male to female, (Amazon has a 2-pack of 13-ft flat whites ones for $12 - amzn.to/3XHUW4x ). I hope this helps. And thanks for taking the time to leave us a comment.

Wyze said there are USB extensions for USB1 that only handle 5v/1a power, USB2 or USB3 should be able to handle 5v/2a or 5v/2.5a. So if you have a newer one it should be fine. I only linked the one on Amazon because it's flat and white, so it matches great. Thanks for all the community member helping each other out. I love it when we all work together to help each other.
