Now, go find a diesel pusher that you like the floor plan. Your braking concerns will disappear. Then when you get over the 50+ mph area, your comfort level will increase, especially the amount of engine noise you have in a front engine gasser.. You won't be yelling in a conversation. Safe Travel-Have Fun.

I bought a DP (36 ft) from General in Tampa this spring. Drove it from Tampa to Ocala on the first day (never having driven one before!). I set off the lane departure a LOT in that couple of hours. But after that, got used to where the coach needed to be in the lane. I love driving it now. I really debated going with something smaller, but don't regret my choice at all now. Good luck with your decision!!

I loved driving my small class A. It was a Thor Vegas 24.1. I’d probably still have it if it had a bigger bathroom. I rented a class C but hated stepping up into the living area and the passenger side is tight with that big doghouse. I have a truck and travel trailer now (had to see how it worked for me) but looking for a small class A again. The only thing I didn’t like was some poor visibility on the passenger side with any crossroad that was at an angle, or for example those exit ramps in Texas where you are merging with traffic coming in from the right. But I’m a solo traveler. If you have a passenger, they can watch for that. I’m just planning to add a ring doorbell or something to have a better view on that side.

I’ve always thought that a Class C would be easier to drive, until now. Guess experiencing it for real in real time is an eye opener. I do have concerns though about the breaking issue. That would scare me cause in real world driving being able to rely on stopping can be very important.
@BrazenBrits

Yes for that reason we will go and try a Diesel also as many commenters have said that the breaking is better. and even if we do end up with a gasser I think we will have to do a lot of upgrades around the breaking and suspension!

We bought a used Fleetwood Bounder for retirement. It's a solid coach. We travel with 2 dogs. 1 1/2 baths, i take a lot of potty breaks😂! It handled Virginia and Pennsylvania great. A little nerve wracking up and down the mountains. My husband has done upgrades to suspension & shocks, big difference now. We live it! 35k great floorplan. Look at older well taken care of models. The inly thing negative is the upholstery peeling on many models. General RV provided new captain seats. I covered dinette seats with mini crib sheets, and thriw blanket in the couch. Natalie you did awesome driving!😊😊
