What kind of crappy asphalt do you have that you cannot drive as fast during the rain? I am also a fire fighter and never noticed more cars crashing during the rain. As someone who drove Uber on & off for years, I can confirm. People speed up once the bad weather starts or aren't adjusted to it until their 1st close call after heading out. On the plus side, way more rides get requested so gloomy days become money days 🥳

The sad part is if most drivers just waited a couple hours it wouldn't be so bad. When the rain starts it drives all the mud and grease up out of a road's nooks and crannies. This makes it slicker than greased teflon. But after a couple hours it all washes off and the roads lose considerable slickness.
