They didn’t really say anything about it in this vid, but from a number of sources Ralphie was a singularly generous and great guy. Sure, he was rough around the edges but if people can’t take a joke they shouldn’t go to a comedy show. He was known to give anonymously quite a lot and never wanted credit for helping people, often on an individual basis.

The very first time I saw a clip of Ralphie's comedy I knew he was going to be on the shortlist of becoming a comic icon. I thought of him as being on the same level as George Carlin- my All-Time FAVORITE comic. And I don't think I was wrong either. In his short time in making us laugh he always managed to hit on the hard topics and still stay onstage afterwards. And you have to be truly great in this day and age of PC bullshittery. I loved him, and I will certainly miss him. But hey- maybe now he's sitting in comic heaven giving Kinnison the whatfor and trading jokes with Carlin! One can certainly hope... .. .

I was so happy about a year ago, because I found ‘Ralphie May’. I was so excited to see him on stage or radio and he is unequivocally, THE funniest man. He just ticked all of the boxes, when it comes to funny. He was a genius, and then I found out about 6 months ago that he had passed away. Gutted, truly devastating news. I think the picture on this video is the last performance He did and despite his feeling unwell he still chose to share with his fans and have pictures etc. He passed away not long after getting back to where he was staying. To Ralphie, thank you so very much for the wonderful discovery I made after hearing you perform. You gave so much back and after the accident you had years ago, you changed your whole outlook on life. I’m talking about you realising you were a bully and vowing to change not just your viewpoint but you shone a light on ignorant , biased people and took away their power to hurt people by taking the piss out of it first. I’m so very sad to have heard of your passing but I love that I found you, and I wouldn’t change it for never hearing your brilliant material and message. Big love to you and thank you 😊😂

Three weeks ago I went into the hospital for what I thought was bruised ribs from coughing from having the flu I found out it was pneumonia and I two blood clots on both lungs with one straining my heart. I'm not overweight I only weigh 165 at 5,9. I'm on blood thinners for the next six months and I coughed up one of the blood clots and I wouldn't wish that on anyone so if you have chest pain and feel sick don't mess around thinking like I did that it will get better. I was told I was so close to having a heart attack full on cardiac arrest that I was lucky to get into the hospital when I did. Oh man Riparadise Ralphie and if you feel messed up even if you are not seriously overweight get checked out if you are suffering from symptoms like chest pain and heartburn it could be really bad.

An honest great guy with a true care for people. Saw him many times. Not a fan of comedy clubs but for him I went. Vegas and NY!

It's a shame he's no longer with us that guy was hysterical and I don't agree with being PC but I like how his gay jokes straight up for gay people rather than just put them down

I miss Ralphie...he had such true comedic talent that wasn't overly vulgar or offensive...and to be honest...he knew how to use his voice alone to make people laugh.

Ralphie definitely was one of a kind. It's sad knowing that he died young.
