SoCraftastic you should put papers in a hat or container or something and then fold the, and have different art supplies and you have different topics like the first time you pick what the art is on like paper or canvas and then the media then what you draw or make and the have like wildcards in each one like drawing with strawberries or something and use the google number generator and you have to use everything to make that art

I totally agree! Craft kits should come with everything needed, and anything with air dry clay needs resealable bags. Kids DO deserve quality and I was always discouraged when I couldn't get results shown on packaging. I'd LOVE to see you do a video on what you'd do for a kiss craft kit, with price breakdown and projects! What an AMAZING resource that could be for parents, sitters, child care workers!

But yeah, I understand why you didn’t like it. But honestly I wouldn’t mind having stuff that was a little bendy, it seems kinda cool honestly
@PhoenyxAshe

In that case it fails several times over. I picked up some to try a few years back. Unlike the experiences of Sara or Chloe, I had to work super fast as it seemed to start drying out as soon as I opened the packages. (Note: It -was- mid-summer, and I was sitting outside in the sun, so that might account for some of the differences.) Even the pieces I worked on later dried pretty quickly and, in the space of a week, went from being "flexible" to very brittle, and cracked -very- easily. Not a product I could ever recommend.

This way (if I had a kid) we could have craft time. I don't think you are over critical at all. $40 is a lot of money for something that might not last. For the clock... I would have clear coated it to make those colrs pop.

The kit should only cost how much the supplies cost and then a few dollars extra as they need to make some kind of profit. Honestly, I don't think it was worth more than 25 dollars and that's reaching, imo. Everything you did was cute, but it's such a shame that none of it will likely hold up, so it almost seems like a waste of your time too. Kids will be disappointed by things not lasting. Also, I live in Michigan and get weird calls from various places in my state too. A lot of those spam companies disguise their number by using other numbers. I once had it happen to me and it was my own number.

I bought my kids model magic in the mid 1990's because I really hated playdoh. The model magic only came in white. My kids liked it because they could paint the items they made with acrylic paint and that made them harder. My father still has all of the items they made for him. About the spam calls, you can put your number on a "do not call list"! Just Google that and the national do not call registry will come up and you can put your number on there. I did that and it greatly reduced the amount of calls I've been getting! I only get around 1 per week now.

Way late, but I absolutely agree with you about art/craft materials for kids. They don't need pro quality stuff, no, but USEABLE stuff at the very least. That awful paint brush (and it's actually one of the better ones I've seen come out of a Crayola kit) would frustrate anyone. Kids have a hard enough time with this sort of thing (like painting numbers nicely on a clock face) what with still working on their basic hand-eye coordination and such, without being sabotaged with craptastic tools. I wonder how many of the kids who quit doing art all together as they get older were convinced by crappy for-kids tools and materials that they didn't have the "talent" or whatever, so there was no point in continuing? :( And the contents of the box was in no way worth $40. :/
@boopeep9670
5 жыл бұрын
Um no yellow paint??? Huge fail. From a company that specializes in color? $40 and you only get 2 of the basic 3 primaries? Silver is nice but prefer gold, if shown on iany packaging and not included it’s another big big fail. I like your wrap up and agree with every point also like your tips as you did the projects. I wish they added a black marker or paint to outline your numbers on the clock. Considering the scrap beads as a whole bonus project was super lame and should have just been a suggestion list of ideas for left over supplies like charms, pendants, tree ornament, paint pour on cardboard for cards and card embellishments.... I don’t see $40 either. Kid or adult- the dollar amount determines the value and quality of supplies no matter what the age. Crap is a rip off and that is always unacceptable. The parents that paid for the kits should be getting their moneys worth. Age only matters for skill level and Senior centers and adults short on time love quick projects as well as adults crafting for quality time along side kids. Both age group still need good instructions and realistic examples (w all supplies included!) no photoshopping. Lowering expectations because it’s labeled a kids product isn’t an excuse for bad quality.
@reppeplucw

And what’s with a choice of primary color paints that doesn’t include yellow? Red, blue, yellow, white and black should be included. You’d think Crayola would get that. I agree with all your comments, Sarah. Thanks.

Not sure if anyone else has mentioned it yet, but those clock hand kits usually have a thin layer of protective film on the hands that you peel off to get the shiny finish. Might not make the whole kit worth the money, but might help you for future projects with clock kits. You can usually get really funky clock hands on ebay for somewhere around $1.
