Draft is the best way to improve at MTG. Too bad it’s almost literally doubled in price in the past few years.

I almost exclusively draft on Arena

@@tinyhatproductions Totally valid. I’m not one that normally enjoys the digital mtg experience, especially when the stuff I buy in paper doesn’t translate over to digital and vice versa, but arena is the best way to consistently draft nowadays

@@theshinxhunter sadly, yes. If I could paper draft for cheap whenever I wanted, I would do that.

@@tinyhatproductions There is cube. It’s my favorite mtg format ^^. Sadly, it’s hard to consistently get a group together for that.

The hardest part of draft to me is picking the right card over the cards I think are cool

Draft is great. It really solidified the importance of the mana curve to me.

Draft isn't hard. It's harder to be "good" at it, because every part of the game is being measured. You have to build a deck on the fly, adjusting to what you're passed, then figure out how to play it. There's no memorizing what to do in a situation, because you'll probably never see that situation again. And sideboarding is wild. There's a lot of extra moving parts. Yes, that makes it hard to master, but that doesn't really make it harder to play. Except for the time limit for drafting and deck building.

Yes, it’s hard to be great at draft, but it’s not hard to play or be okay at.
