Friends, getting ready for a IDPA Match, shooting my handloads. In my division ESP the Power-Factor, is set a 125. Today I'm using my CED M2 Chronograph at the range...you can find this product on MidwayUSA.com. I've used mine for the last 7 years and I've used it on everything from Compound Bows, Cross Bows, Rifle and like today, Handguns. It's easy to set-up and comes with a nice carrying case, to help you stay organized. I also like the fact that it calculates Standard Deviations, Avg. Speeds and Power-Factor...which is a huge help when you're at the range. Power-Factor is the measure of the speed of the bullets times the weight of the bullet in grains...for IDPA that 125 to meet match ESP Match PF. Keep in mind other divisions like CDP have a much higher PF which is set at 165. Using a Chrono is great way to better understand your equipment and projectiles you're using...whether it's a Bow at 280 FPS or Rifle Ammo at 2600 FPS or a Handgun at just over 900 FPS. You can learn more about all the IDPA Rules and Power-Factors, by visiting the IDPA.com website.
Update, I used this ammo at the IDPA Pennsylvania State Championship, which is a Tier III Match...and was fortunate to take 1st Place in the Marksman Division for ESP. Thank goodness, I checked my loads prior to the competition...if gives you as a competitor a tremendous feeling of confidence, knowing that your ammunition is going to pass the divisions Power-Factor.
Be Safe, God Bless and Thanks for Watching!
