Chris, fyi on Bath etiquette in Japan. Typically Japanese shower fully before entering the bath tub, which is a fully immersive tub. The tub is meant to really relax and share the water with others, which is why they shower before entering the tub. This is why you saw the little seat and shower head outside the tub in this bathroom. This is the same for hot spas around the country and good to know if you are traveling with others. Fun fact :)

The sink on the toilet tank is indeed for washing up afterwards. Japanese use the tub for soaking, not washing. You use the shower to wash and hop in the tub afterwards. Lived in Japan for 12 years and visited Disney Sea and Tokyo Disney many, many times. My last visit was in 2005, and your video was great. Thanks for all of the hard work!

Unless I was missing something I didn't see any soap in the bathroom, so that sink on the back of the toilet would only be useful for making your hands wet not actually doing anything of a cleaning nature.

Thank you for showing us how visiting Disney in Japan is life! You’re so open-minded and humble about when you don’t know what something is. It’s a pleasure to watch you be out of your comfort zone (being in Tokyo vs California/Florida/Paris). I hope we get to be with you if you travel to all the Disney parks!

My family loves visiting Japan. Thank you so much for sharing your adventures. If I may suggest a fun side experience: I know this may sound strange at first, however you should try eating Japanese food from 7-Eleven while you’re there. It’s not expensive and SOOO good. Their 7-Eleven’s are nothing like ours here in the States. Have a blessed trip!

Interesting fact, it is against the law for foreigners to not carry their passports in public. If you get stopped by the police and don't have it, they can fine you. I don't think it happens often, but I wouldn't use the safe for my passport!

Thank you Chris! I’m so glad you are enjoying my Grandmothers home country! Love your videos. 💙 So something you have noticed with Japanese hotel rooms, is the inclusion of pajamas and slippers. Here in the US we would expect them in more expensive accommodations. But in Japan they are in nearly every hotel room. The reason is because Japan is a much more hygienic, clean, and considerate culture than the United States. In Japan, it’s inappropriate to wear shoes inside of the house. For fear of making the floors dirty. So slippers or house shoes are provided. The same goes for pajamas. Wearing pajamas helps reduce skin oil/ dirt/ germs coming into contact with bedding. The idea is to keep the house, or in this case your room, much cleaner with these practices. I hope this helps. Can’t wait for more of your Japan adventure. ✨

What a fun hotel, I never knew about it before!! It’s definitely more of a Japanese style and VERY large for a typical room there. The standard rooms are more like cruise ship cabins. The first time I went there to shoot a commercial, they put me in a traditional hotel in the Ginza District. I was about to complain about the size of the room but I saw the emergency exit sign on the inside of the door and it was the largest room on that floor! They usually put me at the Tokyo Bay Hilton now which I do love. I do hope you can tour the Hotel Mira Costa which is what you walk through to enter Tokyo DisneySea. Certainly the premier hotel at the TDR and just spectacular in every way. It also has a spectacular view of the park which is why there were so many videos of Believe before it opened to the public. The rehearsals were after hours but so many windows were open with cameras shooting everything! Thanks again for all of the wonderful footage and reporting!

I like the little details like the different attraction ride vehicles (Jungle Cruise, Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, Indiana Jones Adventure, 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea, Journey to the Center of the Earth) on the wallpaper of your room or that they were playing the daytime background music loop for Aquasphere Plaza in the courtyard. (Aquasphere Plaza is the round courtyard with the giant globe fountain (the Aquasphere) just in front of the entrance tunnels under the Hotel MiraCosta into DisneySea.) I recognized the music because I collect Disney theme park music and my recent focus has been on Tokyo Disney Resort.

Chris, Are you ok? Feeling ok? Everytime in the parks, when you see the canoe's, you lose your mind and go crazy. But when in the lobby, you see Mickey in/on a canoe, you just calmly call him Frontier Mickey. I think you need to get some rest my friend. (Ok, I realize that you were in the lobby, and the better part of discretion, and all that, but I fell out of my chair, you were so calm and withheld). Disney hotels are such a class act.
