I was actually traveling alone so I was booked into coach but the extremely nice check in staff gave me an entire row to myself! The staff were all extremely friendly and breakfast was served on the flight. It had breadsticks, juice, yogurt, and bread. The breadsticks were stuffed with cheese and they were extremely good. I ended up taking some of the same pics of the islands as Jeb did. I was so excited when I saw this video. I am also considering going on the Alaskan milk run with my dad sometime soon. And a few additional fun facts: - as you mentioned, these are completely parts of France and when chatting around there, it’s more appropriate to say that you come from « mainland » or « metropolitan » France (métropole) rather than « France »; - even though these domestic flights (mainland/overseas) are quite lengthy, you technically don’t need a passport to travel, as you’re staying within France (though not recommended in case you need to land somewhere else!) - seems like the pillows you got are nicer than the ones we get on europeans flights, these were nice!! And thanks for sharing, I’d have thought that there would have been at least a light snack or beverages between FDF and PTP! Or at least for business class passengers!

Strangest flight ever: I needed to get from Canberra (CBR) to Melbourne (MEL), a quick 40-minute trip. Virgin Australia had no direct seats, so they sent me from Canberra to Sydney (SYD) first on a tiny ATR 72 with 30 passengers, which felt like a flying school bus. After a 30-minute propeller-powered joyride, I finally made it to Sydney, just in time to catch my flight to Melbourne for a 80 minute trip,

When I worked for United Airlines in Oakland back in the mid 1980s, we had a DC-8 come in from Chicago that then flew across the Bay to San Francisco. Flying time could be anywhere from five minutes to half an hour, depending on inbound traffic to SFO. I flew it once and they always had to upgrade people to first class for weight and balance reasons. During that time, though, they had a mileage plus frequent flyer promotion that gave you triple miles for a flight segment. That attracted many flyers that came to Oakland and flew to San Francisco for the bonus mile points. Their spouses hopped back in their cars and drove to San Francisco to pick them up and go home. Those were some strange flights!

Azores Airlines from Oakland to Lajes(Terceira) is pretty strange. It's a seasonal route with a handful of flights per season. It's Oakland's only transatlantic route, only international long haul route, and the aircraft changes practically every year since Azores Airlines has to lease aircraft to make it happen. This season and last year it's a Lineas Plus Ultra A330, before that it was a Euro Atlantic 767, but in the past at one point it was operated by an A310.

The flight booking system was offering it for roughly the same price as a direct route and I wasn't going to say no to a bunch of new (to me) airports. As it was all on one ticket, every member of staff I spoke to were incredibly confused and one even called their supervisor to see it.
