@arthurwalls9091

Hello MANDY .... I'm sure you prolly already know & are aware of this but I'm going to let you in on it anyway because if you don't this little tip will help you out a lot ...... There is a huge difference between COOKING & BAKING ... COOKING is most like playing horseshoes , anything close to the peg is good enuff , & it'll work ...BAKING , on the other hand is a more exacting artform , from precise ingredient counts down to Oven Temps & Baking times ..... FACT : Most home ovens are not all that exact between the TEMP knob & the Actual Temp it holds in the Oven ... And in a lot of baked goods that just won't do at all ... That's where the old saying get to know your o en & how it cooks before you ever try to Bake in it comes from ... SOLUTION : Buy an oven thermometer & set or hang in the middle of your oven & turn oven lowest setting for half hour & see what actual temp is holding at , record that & the temp listed on temp knob...Go thru each temp setting & record both setting & actual temp held , you could also do the same halfway between each setting for more accurate Temp Chart for any Future Baking & do this from lowest thru the highest settings on your stove , you should have much more control & oversight over your future baking endeavors ..... By The Way , this little tip did not come from me but , a much better cook actually a professional cook ( He also owns & operates several of his own restaurants ) that I tend to learn a lot from Too , he too has a KZitem Channel called SAM THE COOKING GUY , he comes up with all kind of tips to make our cooking experiences so much easier & Better ...
