Hi, I'm lucky to have the opportunity to go into Myanmar and share with you the lives of the ordinary people in Yangon. I will visit the locals in the 9th District of Lanmadaw Township market area. We will see the kindness and humble way of life in the township.
Yangon, formerly known as Rangoon, is the capital of the Yangon Region and the largest city in Myanmar. It served as Myanmar's capital until 2006 when the administrative functions were relocated to Naypyidaw. With over five million residents, Yangon is a bustling commercial center and boasts the largest number of colonial-era buildings in Southeast Asia. The city's iconic landmarks include the Sule Pagoda, which is reputed to be over 2,000 years old, and the gilded Shwedagon Pagoda, Myanmar's most sacred Buddhist site. Its name, "Yangon," means "End of Strife," commemorating the end of conflicts between the Mon and British forces in the region. Located on the east bank of the Yangon River, it's Myanmar's industrial and commercial hub.
