I had bariatric surgery 18 years ago. I'm still traumatized from docs for years telling me all my problems are weight related. Guess what? They weren't.

this is why body fat % is important. A person with a high BMI might be in a healthy range for their actual body fat.

BMI is meaningless if you have more muscle and it makes up the majority of your body weight. Its the fat around the major organs in the body that matters

Body mass index (BMI) was normed on actuarial tables of average-sized men from the 1950s. BMI is an arbitrary figure with no clinical validity.
